Voice assistants are now an integral part of any more or less of the popular mobile operating system, and often is one of the competitive advantages of the platform. At the time, Apple made a strong emphasis on the playful and sometimes wordy Siri, Google set up in an impersonal, but a very powerful Google Now, as Microsoft has created an intermediate, but very serious decision Cortana. The latter will now appear in the Windows 10 desktop, and will be available for competing platforms.

Microsoft has officially announced the launch of Cortana on iOS and Android. Voice Assistant, of course, will not get the same deep integration, as well as native solutions, but the software giant promises “most of the opportunity Cortana from the computer or Windows Phone┬╗. Reminders are bound by time and geolocation, alarm, tracking aircraft, synchronization with Cortana other device – all this and much more, will be available for voice assistant from Microsoft.

That will not do at this stage of Cortana, so it devaysa change the settings, launch applications and run by voice command, as it “only the application.” These limits are imposed by the present state of and access policies in the OS. This list is probably not complete, so easy to use for non-native systems, Cortana is in doubt.

This is not the first time that the company refuses to exclusive proprietary solutions for their platforms and transports them to the Soup competitors. This journey began with the arrival in the company of Satya Nadella, who has repeatedly said that the future value of the devices will go by the wayside, and the services will run the show. Microsoft clearly does not want to stop there, but because it can be expected that a growing number of its products will be published on the platforms of competitors.

Cortana for Android will be available in late June, and the company promises to release iOS his assistant “later this year”.
