Cover of the March issue of InStyle magazine with Kerry Washington has been controversial in the community – fans of the actress accused the editor of excessive use of Photoshop and skin lightening star series “Scandal”.

In response to criticism InStyle editors published the official explanation:
We are fans of Kerry Washington, and are very proud that we have to work with her. Our experts did not change the skin tone Kerry in photos, but clarified the whole cover entirely. We understand that this step has disappointed many and very much appreciate the feedback. Rest assured, this experience will be considered by us in the future.
The actress also commented on the incident, thanking edition for your prompt and honest answer:

Recall the recent criticism was Kate Winslet photoshoot for Harper’s Bazaar, as well as the cover of the magazine Woman’s Day Australia Duchess Catherine. In both cases, the publications were accused of excessive use of graphic editors.
