Beelink Kaby G5 & G7 REVIEW: Are Mini-PCs Really Good For Gaming?

The Chinese manufacturer Beelink released two new models of its popular mini PCs called Beelink Kaby G5 and G7. The company promotes them as gaming computers, but is it really so?

and high performance. According to Beelink manufacturers, the compact size is one of the main feature of new gadgets. From other side, the performance is much more powerful than other regular PCs.

So, let’s make first review of Beelink Kaby G5 and G7. What’s the difference between these models? Are they really good for gaming, or it is only a marketing trick? Let’s find out.

Beelink Kaby G5 and G7: Design

Beelink Kaby G5 and G7 are made of plastic. Both of them have a rectangle shape. The devices come in only one color option – black and red. By the way, red design elements make it really looks like a gaming mini PC.

On the top panel we see the logo of Beelink and Intel. As you undestand, Beelink Kaby G5 and G7 are powered by Intel processors, but we will talk about this a little later. Also, there is an interesting drawing on the top panel. Some details of this image are illuminated by red LEDs.

On the front panel you can see an inscription “Turbo”, an analog 3.5 mm audio jack and red power button. The rear panel received cooling system grilles and main connectors, such as DC port, mini-DisplayPort, HDMI, Mic, SPK, USB 3.0, LAN and Security port. There are all you need to connect gaming mouse, keyboard, monitor and others. Also, we think it’s a great idea to have all the ports and connectors on one side. It makes using the Beelink Kaby G5 and G7 much simpler.

On the right panel there are two Bluetooth speakers and another holes of cooling system. The left panel is completely dedicated to cooling organization.

At the bottom you can find small rubberized legs so mini PCs do not slip on the surface.

The package of Beelink Kaby G5 and G7 includes: power adapter, AC cable, DP cable, HDMI cable, hard drive, spare screws, user manual in English.

The dimensions of Kaby G5 and G7 are only 17.30 x 15.30 x 6.50 cm. The weight is 1.3620 kg.

Beelink Kaby G5 and G7: Performance

We come to the first difference between Beelink Kaby G5 and G7. Kaby G5 is powered by Intel Core i5-8305G processor. It has four cores with a maximum frequency of 3.8 GHz. Also, there is Intel HD Graphics 630 graphics processor. The basic models comes with 8GB of RAM and 256B of SSD, but also you can buy version with 16GB RAM.

Beelink Kaby G7 is more powerful modelw with Intel Core I7-8709G processor. Its maximum frequency is up to 4.1 GHz. In addition, it comes with integrated graphics Intel HD Graphics 630. The basic model has 16 GB of RAM and 256GB of SDD.

Beelink Kaby G5 and G7 supports both wireless and wired connection to the network. The built-in dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz + 5.8 GHz allows you to connect “over the air” to the network, while gigabit Ethernet 1000 Mb/s will be useful for wired network. By the way, both mini PCs have an external power adapter with 180 watts.

Looking at specifications, Beelink Kaby G5 and G7 are really powerful mini PCS, and you can ealisy play latest games on them.

So, we have two new models of mini PCs from Beelink. As you understand, gaming PCs cannot be budget, because they are powered by latest chipsets and graphics. Moreover, the features of Kaby G5 and G7 are stylish design, small size and powerful hardware.
