Blackview A60 First REVIEW: Can $50 Smartphone Be Good?
As you know, the manufacturers pay great attention to cameras and performance in mobile devices. Yes, it’s great that smartphones make photos no worse than professional cameras. However, not all people need professional photos, and we don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars for smartphones that take professional photos.
If you are looking for an affordable, but good smartphone for everyday tasks, then we want to introduce you Blackview A60. Perhaps this is the cheapest smartphone in 2019.
Despite the price of only $49, Blackview A60 has a modern design with waterdrop notch, 6.1-inch display, 4080 mAh battery and fast charging support. The smartphone has almost everything you need for comfortable daily use.
Today we have prepared the first review of new ulta-budget smartphone from Blackview, and share our impressions about it.

Blackview A60: Design
New smartphone has a modern and stylish design. It comes in three colors: black, dark green and gradient blue. Thanks to the rounded edges, Blackview A60 is very comfortable in the hand. The device is made of plastic, but it is not surprising.
The front panel is occupied by large 6.1-inch display. IPS panel has a resolution of 1280 x 600 pixels and aspect ratio of 19.2:9. The display is protected from scratches and other damage by protective 2.5D glass Dragontrail. Only few budget smartphones have screen protection, and Blackview A60 is one of them.
The manufacturer says the screen to body ratio is 92%, but we’re not sure that this is true. As you can see, the smartphone has quite thick bezels around the display. The top and side bezels are not too thick, but there is a noticeable chin on the bottom.
At the top of the screen is waterdrop notch with front camera. By the way, the front camera supports face recognition. Next to the front camera there is earpiece and LED notification light.
On the back panel we can see the main dual camera and flash. Also, there is sound speaker on the rear panel. As you can see, the phone doesn’t have fingerprint scanner on the back, as well as side faces.
The manufacturer has abandoned the fingerprint scanner in favor of Face Unlock. You can also use the pattern to unlock the smartphone.
On the right side, as usual, there is a button to adjust the volume and power key. There is nothing on the left side.
SIM card slot is located under the back cover. In fact, Blackview A60 supports dual SIM, and also has a dedicated slot for microSD memory card. It’s great that manufacturer did not save on it.
Blackview A60 has 3.5 mm audio jack on the top, and microUSB charging port with microphone on the bottom. That’s all we can say about design of this phone. The design and build-quality is really good for $50 smartphone.
Blackview A60: Performance
Blackview A60 is powered by MediaTek MT6580A processor with four Cortex-A7 cores up to 1.3 GHz. This is a fairly old, but reliable processor for entry-level smartphones. To be honest, this is a very good option for a smartphone with price tag of $49. The processor works in conjunction with a graphics processor Mali-400 MP2.
The phone is equipped with only 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Thanks to a dedicated slot for a memory card, you can expand the internal storage to 128GB.
Yes, 1GB of RAM is very small for 2019, but this should be enough for calls, messages, watching videos on YouTube, social media.
Blackview A60 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) operating system. Go Edition is specially optimized for smartphones with a small amount of RAM.
Blackview A60: Camera
The main camera of Blackview A60 has two sensors – the main 13-megapixel sensor and a secondary for taking photos with bokeh effect. The smartphone also has a night mode for shooting photos in low light conditions.
The waterdrop notch has 5-megapixel front camera. It supports Face Beauty.
Blackview A60: Battery
One of the highlights of Blackview A60 is battery. The smartphone is equipped with 4080mAh battery. Despite the big screen, you can use smartphones all day long and not be afraid that it will be discharged.
Also, new Blackview budget smartphone supports fast charging, which is not typical of ultra-budget phones.
Blackview A60: Price and buy
My first impressions about Blackview A60 is that it is a stylish and user-friendly smartphone for everyday use. Thanks to waterdrop notch and beautiful color options, it is even difficult to understand that Blackview A60 is an entry-level phone, and it costs only $50.
Large 6.1-inch display, MediaTek MT6580A quad-core processor and 4080mAh high-capacity battery ensure comfortable use of smartphone.
You can already buy Blackview A60 smartphone for only $49 in Chinese online stores.
