Huawei Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro First REVIEW: Better Than Redmi K20 and K20 Pro?

The new smartphones Redmi K20 and K20 Pro (the same Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro) made a lot of noise on smartphone market. Xiaomi released affordable and completely bezel-less smartphones with powerful hardware. Some people decided to buy new Redmi K20 and K20 Pro instead of Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE.

It also became known that Huawei plans to release competitors to Redmi K20 and K20 Pro. The smartphones will have the names of Huawei Honor 9X and 9X Pro.

Huawei Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro: Design

We know that new Honor smartphones will be mid-range devices. As you remember, Redmi phones are almost flagships. It seems that Honor 9X and 9X Pro will be able to spoil the sales of Redmi K20 and K20 Pro, because they will have the similar specifications, but Huawei phones will be cheaper. Also, the pop-up front camera will attract a lot of attention.

We already have the first leak image of Honor 9X, but the design of Honor 9X Pro is still unknown. Nevertheless, we can assume that new smartphones will similar to each other, like Redmi devices. Perhaps, the only difference will be in size, because of different display diagonal.

If to believe the leak images, then we have a typical representative of mid-range smartphone. Honor 9X and 9X Pro will have a glass body, triple camera on the back and pop-up front camera. Also, the phones will offer interesting body colors and impressive dimensions. Insiders say that the display size of Honor 9X and 9X Pro will be from 6.5-inches to 6.7-inches. We don’t know for sure yet.

As I already said, the design of new Honor devices won’t be different. The main differences will be inside. It is said that smartphones will have different processors, cameras, batteries, etc. The leaks say about following specifications of Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro:

Huawei Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro: Performance

As you understand, Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro are not real competitors to Redmi K20 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, because they have very different price categories and very different hardware. However, Huawei smartphones will have more attractive price, so they can spoil the sales of Xiaomi phones.

Talking about performance, Honor 9X Pro will be powered by Kirin 810 processor. It is even more powerful than Snapdragon 730. By the way, do you remember that Honor brand was created to compete with Xiaomi, Meizu, Oppo, Vivo and others? This is because Honor smartphones have more attractive prices than Huawei devices.

Huawei Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro: Released and Price

We still don’t know the release date and price of Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro. The estimated release of new smartphones is Autumn 2019, perhaps, early September. As for the prices, we expect $230 for Honor 9X and $275 for Honor 9X Pro, but they are not confirmed.

If the smartphones will really have these price tags, then Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro will be very popular. The phones looks nice and premium, they have great performance, and even NFC, which is important for many people.
