Hubsan Zino Pro FIRST REVIEW: Real Competitor of FIMI X8 SE?

In March 2019, Hubsan introduced its first folding drone called Hubsan Zino. Thanks to its good specifications and functions, it competes with DJI Mavic Pro. Moreover, Hubsan Zino was so interested by users that at the beginning of sales the Chinese manufacturer could not cope with the number of orders, and some buyers had to wait several months for their drones.

Hubsan decided not to stop on one quadcopter, and a couple of days ago an updated folding drone appeared in Chinese stores – Hubsan Zino Pro.

Hubsan Zino Pro has a folding design, 4K UHD camera, 3-axis gyroscope, GPS + GLONASS support, a flight range of 4 km and a flight time of up to 23 minutes.

We have prepared the first review of Hubsan Zino Pro. As usual, let’s start with  design, and then talk about specifications, features, price and where you can buy it.

Hubsan Zino Pro: Design

Hubsan Zino Pro FIRST REVIEW: Competitor FIMI X8 SE?

Zino Pro is a compact quadcopter. Its dimensions in folded state are 18 x 10 x 9 cm, and unfolded – 30 x 25 x 9 cm. When folded, it is placed in the palm of your hand.

As for the weight, compared to other compact drones, Hubsan Zino Pro is quite heavy – 700 grams.

The case is made of plastic, and it is available only in mate black color. In my opinion, Hubsan Zino Pro looks pretty stylish and a bit aggressive.

On the top panel of the drone we can see the manufacturer’s logo and model name. There is also a round button to turn on the quadcopter.

In front of the drone is a camera. We will talk about its specifications a little later.

At the rear of drone is a special compartment for battery. The battery is removable and easy to replace. To pull out the battery, you need to press the large button on the right side.

Also on the right side there is microSD card slot and USB charging port. By the way, Hubsan Zino Pro supports memory cards up to 64 GB.

Each of four propellers has LED bulbs. They glow during flight. They make the drone visible during the flight in the dark.

Under each propeller and camera is small legs. During landing, the Hubsan Zino Pro lands on these legs, so the case does not scratch.

Particular attention should be paid to package content of Hubsan Zino Pro, because it is quite rich.

In the upper part you can see two folding antennas for good communication between remote control and drone.

In general, remote control looks like a joystick for a game console. It is easy, convenient and intuitive to use.

Hubsan Zino Pro: Specifications

Hubsan Zino Pro has a brushless motor. As you can know, a brushless motor is better than a brush motor because it provides less friction during the flight, as well as a longer service life.

The maximum speed of Zino Pro is 9 meters per second.

Despite its high flight speed, quadcopter control is quite convenient and predictable, thanks to the built-in 3-axis stabilizer and GPS + GLONASS. You can fly even in windy weather.

The maximum flight range is 4 km. For comparison, the last Hubsan Zino drone had a flight range of 2.5 km.

The distance of video transmission to remote control is also 4 km. Even if the quadcopter loses connection with remote control, it will automatically return to the launch place.

Hubsan Zino Pro shoots video on 4K UHD camera. The camera uses 1/3 inch Sony sensor. The maximum video resolution is 3840 X 2160 pixels at 30 frames per second.

The drone also has Ambarella A12S processor. As we wrote earlier, 3-axis mechanical suspension is responsible for stabilization.

By the way, the lens on the camera is removable, and you can change it to use different filters.

As for the battery, Hubsan Zino Pro is equipped with a removable 3000mAh battery. One charge is enough for 23 minutes of flight. It takes about 180 minutes to fully charge the battery.

In order not to wait all this time, you can additionally buy another battery. When one of them is discharged, you change it to the second, and continue the flight.

The remote control has its own 2600mAh battery.

Hubsan Zino Pro: Functions

To start the flight of Hubsan Zino Pro drone, you need only a few minutes.

First, take the drone out of the box, straighten the propellers, and press the power button. After that, you need to download X-HUBSAN app to your smartphone. You can scan QR code for downloading the app in user guide or simply download the app from Google Play Store or the App Store.

Hubsan Zino Pro FIRST REVIEW: Competitor FIMI X8 SE?

As for the functions, there are not too many of them in Hubsan Zino Pro. The drone is able to take panoramic pictures at 360 degrees, fly in a straight line, and also tracking. This may be useful, for example, to a cyclist or motorist. A very convenient function, since you do not need to constantly control the drone; it will follow you.

Orbit function is also available when the drone flies around the point you specify. It can be a city attraction or a beautiful natural site.

The last function is called Vision Auxiliary Landing. Before starting the flight, you indicate a specific point for takeoff and landing of the drone. When the battery runs out, or you just decide to end the flight, you just need to press the button on the remote control to return the drone, after which Hubsan Zino Pro automatically finds a take-off place and lands on it.
