JmGO 1895S REVIEW: The Best Retro Design You’ve Ever Seen!

More and more interesting devices appear on the market. The manufacturers try to amaze their customers. This fall JmGO surpassed itself by presenting its new LED projector called JmGO 1895S. The unusual name of projector is in honor of the year of the cinema founding. Although projector has retro design, it provides the latest hardware and best functions.

JmGO 1895S looks like a projector with 35 mm coils. It brings us back to the cinema of the 1950s. The projector has Full HD native resolution with 4K video playback, built-in speaker system and an effective cooling system.

JmGO 1895S: Design

Before we look at the functions of the projector and its features, we should talk about appearance of JmGO 1895S. The gadget has all the main parts of film projectors with coils. It painted in black with gold details.

There are two coils on the left side. They rotate during projection, imitating their use. In the center of the upper wheel there is Play button and ring for focus adjustment. The lower wheel provides sound on/off button and volume rocker. Of course, all these functions are available on remote control.

Between the wheels there are three thin knobs for adjusting the high, middle and low sound frequencies. From the front, we see a projector lens with adjustable focus and an infrared receiver for the remote control.

Now let’s look on the right side of JmGo 1895S. There are also many interesting details. Below there is a knob for adjusting the projector’s tilt, two round sensors for displaying the processor frequency and fan speed. To the left is a thin switch for power on/off the projector. Below you can see AV / HDMI / USB source switch.

So, the design clearly belongs to the 50s, but the hardware of the projector is from the 21st century. On back of the projector are hidden following connectors: 2 USB ports, including USB 3.0, S/PDIF, fast Ethernet port, HDMI input, AV input and 3.5 mm stereo audio jack. There is also charging port.

As for the remote control, it looks the same as in previous models of projectors from JmGO. Only the round button has the same golden color as some details on JmGO 1895S body.

The projector is made of metal, glass and ABC. The dimensions of the new gadget are 47.97 x 36.20 x 16.50 cm and weight 4.5 kg.

JmGO 1895S: Functions

Now let’s go to the features and functions of new projector. JmGo 1895S has native resolution of Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels. The projector can play 4K and 3D video. The contrast ratio is 5000:1 with 1200 ANSI lumens brightness. These are very good specifications for projector 2018.

The projection image is bright and clear, even in rooms with lighting. The size of the picture varies from 80 to 300-inches without loss of quality. Projection distance is from 2 to 7.3 meters. It means that you can use it both in a small room and in a large hall.

Dual 5-watt speakers are built into the case. They make the projector independent of external speakers. You get not only an amazing picture, but also a great sound.

JmGO 1895S runs on Android 4.4 operating system. Also, it has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. You can use all the functions of Android operating system: social media, apps for watching TV, movies, games, etc. It also has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0.

The noise level is no more than 30 dB. You shouldn’t worry about the discontent of neighbors, if you want to watch the movie on JmGO 1895S at night.

The projector is easy to use out of the box. Just plug in, make the first setup when you turn it on and that’s all! The only settings available for adjusting the image are brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness.

There are three levels of power LEDs. They directly affect the brightness. In addition, there are several options for image formats: JPG, JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, GIF.

We checked the image quality on several movies, and we are pleased. The image is very bright and realistic.

JmGO company has its own media player, which plays most video files, images and sounds. If it doesn’t support your format, you can download another player via Google Play Store.

The projector is compatible with iPad, iPhone, Android smartphones, PC, Sony PS4 and Xbox.
