Kospet Brave First REVIEW: IP68 Waterproof Android Smartwatch

Kospet is a new player on smartwatch market. We already made first review of its smartwatch called Kospet Hope. Some days ago, the Chinese manufacturer released the next wearable device – Kospet Brave. Yes, the smartwatches from Kospet company have very interesting names, but also they provide very good specifications and features.

In this article, we will review Android standalone 4G smartwatch Kospet Brave. This is one of the few Android smartwatches with IP68 water protection. In addition, it has the most classic design we’ve ever seen. So, let’s start with design.

Kospet Hope: Design

Kospet Brave comes with a silicone band out of the box. However, the smartwatch has detachable strap, so you can change it any other. The width of the strap should be 24mm. For example, here is how Kospet Brave looks like with leather strap. It is very elegant and stylish, isn’t it?

The watch face is made of metal. Because of shiny case, it looks more classical than sporty. There are two physical metal buttons on the right side.

The smartwatch has 1.3-inch IPS display with resolution of 240×240 pixels. It is full view display, so there are no black bars on the top or bottom. The screen is touch, just like regular smartphone. You can use swipes and taps on the screen to use functions.

On the back, we can see a heart rate sensor, a magnetic charger connector and a speaker. The slot for SIM card is on the left side. You will need a screwdriver to open the slot. The screwdriver comes in the package.

Kospet Hope: Specifications

If we compare Kospet Brave with Kospet Hope, then new smartwatch has worse specifications. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, while Kospet Hope has 3GB+32GB. Also, Kospet Brave runs on Android 6.0 operating system, while the previous model has Android 7.1. New smartwatch is equipped with MediaTek MTK6737 chipset.

There is GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G and 4G LTE support.

Another difference between Kospet Brave and Hope is that the first doesn’t have camera. However, Kospet Brave has waterproof by IP68 standard. Perhaps, this is the main feature of the smartwatch, because most Android watches aren’t waterproof.

Kospet Hope: Functions

It seems that the functions of Kospet Brave doesn’t differ from Kospet Hope. It is the same Android smartwatch, but the menu is different, because Brave watch runs on Android 6.0. As usual, you can choose different watch faces.

There is already pre-installed sports modes, Google Maps, and other apps. The user can install other various Android apps using Google Play Store. There is heart rate monitor and blood pressure monitor.

Another interesting feature of Kospet Brave is Bluetooth Calls. Now you can take calls on the smartwatch even when it doesn’t have SIM card inside. You just need to connect the smartwatch to smartphone, and then you can take calls on the watch.

Of course, you can insert the SIM card into the smartwatch, and take calls without connecting to smartphone. In other words, it can be used independently of smartphone. If you insert the SIM card, then you can make not only calls, but also get access to the internet. You can browse website, watch YouTube videos, use social media, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other stuff.

Kospet Hope: App

Kospet Brave is a standalone Android smartwatch, but you can also connect it to smartphone if you want. The companion app on phone is called Fundo. When you connect the smartwatch to smartphone, you can receive new messages, notifications and phones on the watch. Also, you can download more watch faces.

Kospet Hope: Price and buy

The price of Kospet Brave is the same as Kospet Hope – $139.99. Yes, Kospet Hope has 3GB of RAM (instead of 2GB), new Android 7.1 OS (instead of Android 6.0), and it has camera, but it doesn’t have the most important feature for any wearable device – water resistance.

The main features of Kospet Brave are water resistance by IP68 standard and Bluetooth calls. These two features will make it one of the most interesting smartwatch on the market. The other functions are the same as most Android smartwatch in 2019.
