Leagoo T5c Review: chipset with Airmont architecture and Dual Camera
Until the end of 2017 the Chinese company Leagoo will release a budget smartphone called Leagoo T5c. It has dual main camera and full metal body. Generally, it is not really new for Chinese phones, but Leagoo T5c will be equipped with interesting chipset. We’ll talk about this in our first review.
Leagoo T5c: Hardware
Earlier sources from Chinese said that new Leagooo smartphpone will work on MediaTek chipset. But today we received information that Chinese company decided to use 14-nanometer SC9853I chipset from Spreadtrum. The manufacturer is known as the cheapest producer of chipset for mobile devices.
SC9853I includes eight 64-bit computing cores with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz and Intel Airmont architecture x86. Do not forget that Intel itself after the failure of the line Cherry Trail with the same architecture decided to leave the market of chipsets for smartphones.
New chipset Spreadtrum SC9853I is compared with MediaTek MT6750. But it looks bettery by 25% in single-core test and by 36% in multi-core test. In the future, it may even become a competitor to Qualcomm Snapdragon 630.
Thanks to Spreadtrum processor, new Leagoo T5c will receive support for 4G LTE Category 7/13 networks. It provides 300 Mbps download speed and 150 Mbps upload speed. Unlike most budget chipsets from MediaTek, Spreadtrum SC9853I supports displays with resolution of FullHD+, 1080 × 2160 pixels.
Leagoo T5c: Display
However, Leagoo T5c is a completely classic smartphone. There is a display with diagobal 5.5-inch and resolution of Full HD. The matrix is IPS manufactured by Sharp. 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage with support microSD memory cards.
Leagoo T5c: Camera
As I said before, new smartphone has dual rear camera. The main sensor is 13MP from Samsung, and secondary is 2MP from OmniVision. There is a powerful double two-tone flash on LED-elements. The front camera is used 5-megapixel (OV) sensor.
The fingerprint reader is built into Home button. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh, and it supports fast charging. There are connectors MicroUSB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio. New smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
In fact, Leagoo T5c is an experimental version of T5 with a new processor.
Leagoo T5c: Price and date release
Expected price Leagoo T5c is $129.99. The release date is scheduled for December 2017. At the moment, the manufacturer’s website already has a pre-order smartphone.
