Maze Alpha X Review: New Generation of Bezel-Less Phone – Price, Release date, Specs
The Chinese company Maze has officialy launched its new bezel-less phone called Maze Alpha X. The smartphone is budget alternative to Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
Design
The main feature of both devices is bezel-less design. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 display occupies only 80.8% of the front panel, while Maze Alpha X about 89.6%. You should note the diagonal in both phones is the same 6 inches.
Maze Alpha X comes with aspect ratio of 9:18 and resolution of FullHD+ 1080 × 2160 pixels from LG. Also, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass with 2.5D-effect and almost imperceptible side bezels.
The top panel has the speaker, and at the bottom there is hardware button Home with built-in fingerprint reader. It is very interesting, because many Chinese full screen smartphones use fingerprint reader at the back panel.
The dimensions of Maze Alpha X are slightly larger than Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 – 156.4 x 74.6 x 8.1 mm. The back cover is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 glass and covered with a special oleophobic layer that will prevent fatty fingerprints.
Maze Alpha X: Performance
If we talk about hardware, Maze Alpha X is not much different from other Chinese mid-range phones: eight-core MediaTek Helio P25 with integrated graphics ARM Mali-T880 MP2, 6GB RAM LPDDR4x. The internal storage of top version is really impressive – 128 GB.

Interestingly, modifications with different memory sizes have different main cameras. So, the version Alpha X on 64 Gb uses a 13-megapixel sensor Sony IMX218, and 128-gigabyte – Omnivision OV16880 with a resolution of 16 Gb.
As for the front camera, it is based on Sony IMX219 module with a resolution of 8MP. It is located in the lower right corner, like Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. We cannot say that this arrangement is super-convenient, but with this design options quite a bit initially.
Maze Alpha X: Battery
By the way, Alpha X can boast of quite a decent battery, the capacity of which is 4000 mAh. There is support for fast charging using PumpExpress 3.0 technology from MediaTek. The smartphone is running latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
