OnePlus 5T (A5010) First Review: Most Unexpected Flagship Smartphone 2017
Among all the flagships of 2017, the smartphone OnePlus 5T is the most unexpected. However, in October it became clear that OnePlus will present one more smartphone with top specifications this year. According to sources, new device has model number A5010, and it’s exactly OnePlus 5T (Turbo).
It seems that manufacturer could not decide whether it is worth releasing a smartphone this year, or present new device in 2016 under the 6th series.
Perhaps the Chinese company made the decision to release OnePlus 5T because of Samsung and its Galaxy S9 on Snapdragon 845. The management of OnePlus does not want to loss a possible profit and almost a year to sit without new devices.
OnePlus 5T: Key Features

OnePlus 5T: Design
If you believe the leaks, the main difference between OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T is an bezel-less AMOLED display with 9:18 aspect ratio. The screen will occupiers at least 80% of the front panel. The corners are slightly rounded, but there are no cutouts like Apple iPhone X or Essential Phone.
The hardware button “Home” will be removed, and the fingerprint reader moves to the back panel. Also, it will have almost square shape. Above the display there is enough space for front camera, sensors and front speaker.
Otherwise, OnePlus 5T completely copies its predecessor: a thin metal case, the same design of main camera, edges with plastic inserts for antennas like iPhone 7. The volume and notification buttons are on the right, Power and slot for SIM cards on the left.
OnePlus 5T: Performance
New flagship will work on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. In 2017, it is the most powerful chipset available to a wide range of smartphone manufacturers. So the manufacturer did not need to strain themselves with choice.
OnePlus 5T: Memory
As already mentioned above, the top version of OnePlus 5T will receive 8 GB of RAM and 128GB built-in flash drive with support for microSD memory cards. Also there will be more simple version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
OnePlus 5T: Display
According to Oppomart online store, new smartphone will receive 6 inch display with resolution of FullHD+ 1080 × 2160 pixels, and 9:18 aspect ratio. We think that the smartphone will have matrix made using Optic AMOLED technology. Also it will be protected by protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
OnePlus 5T: Camera
It is another highlight of OnePlus 5T. If you believe the leaks, the engineers of Chinese company slightly improved the dual main camera 16 MP + 20 MP. So, the aperture of the main module will be f/1.6, not f/1.7, as it was before. Also optical image stabilization will be added.
AnTuTu benchmark says that new smartphone will come with 20-megapixel front camera. It promises even more quality selfies.
OnePlus 5T: Fingerprint reader
There is without surprises. If you look at render photos, the fingerprint reader will move to the back panel. Perhaps a sensor will be improved. OnePlus doesn’t announce the development of face recognition system.
OnePlus 5T: Battery
Accoring to available photos and renderers OnePlus 5T, the battery capacity of new smartphone will be the same – 3300 mAh.
OnePlus 5T: Release date
As we said at the beginning, new smartphone OnePlus 5T will be announced on event that almost no one expected. In mid-October, GSMArena published a teaser of press conference, which will take place on November 5, 2017.
In the picture you can see image of smartphone with a large bezel-less display and letter T in the middle. Despite the fact that official representatives of OnePlus said that this teaser is a fake, we think that it is release date of next flagship.
OppoMart online store have began accept pre-order for new smartphone. It promises that OnePlus 5T will be sent to customers before the end of the month.
