PACKAGING
Vacuum cleaner ILIFE X5 have come in a fairly large square box. Inside the delivery box is another box with the vacuum cleaner itself.
The box with a vacuum cleaner has an inscription Beetles. Earlier we met the same model of a vacuum cleaner, but with an inscription Bumbee. To be honest, we do not know the difference, but in our review ILIFE X5 Beetles.
Vacuum cleaner packaging is very high quality, all parts are in their places and protected reliably. All items are in bags. The top part is protected by a cardboard, under which all other objects are located.
What do we have inside the box?
Here we immediately see the vacuum cleaner in the center. Also we have a charging station (base), container for garbage (dry cleaning), container for water (wet cleaning), virtual wall, remote control, a charger for base, two additional brushes (in total we get 4 brushes; two main brushes are under the vacuum cleaner), two microfiber rags, a brush for cleaning the containers with garbage, two additional HEPA filters (it total we have 3 filters; one of them is in container), user manual in Chinese and English, two batteries AAA for the control panel and two AA batteries for virtual wall.
This is a complete packaging ILIFE X5 vacuum cleaner. It is very rich, and offers all the necessary things for a vacuum cleaner, even more (additional filters and batteries).

The vacuum cleaner ILIFE X5 has a round shape and pleasant colors: white and golden. The main difference of ILIFE X5 is four touch buttons for controlling the vacuum cleaner and display. The height of the robot is about 7 cm, and diameter is 30 cm. The total weight is 3 kg.
In the lower part of ILIFE X5 are brushes for garbage collection. They are indicated by the letters L and R, since the angle of inclination of brushes for them should correspond to the direction of rotation. Next to the brushes you can see the large areas that are intended for recharging on base. There are also height sensors, so vacuum cleaner does not fall off the ladder.
Unlike some other models of vacuum cleaners, ILIFE X5 does not have a central brush. The main retractor is the turbine in the rear of vacuum cleaner.
The wheels are durable and reliable. They are made of plastic, and are connected to an electric motor.

A microfiber cloth for wet cleaning is attached to a plastic pad, as shown in the image below.
Water enters the cloth from the container through the holes in the lower part of the vacuum cleaner. They moisten the microfiber cloth, which the robot rubs the surface of the floor.
ILIFE X5 vacuum cleaner has its own sense organs, namely the proximity sensor and the bumper, which is the main impact sensor. The bumper is protected from scratches by a small rubber strip at the bottom. Above the strip is an IR transparent plastic with proximity sensors and IR sensors for remote control and base.
The garbage container is located inside the vacuum cleaner. The lid is opened through a light push on the top of the vacuum cleaner with inscription Push. Here you can see holes for dry garbage, as well as two holes for water for wet cleaning.
The garbage container has a volume of 300 milliliters. On top is a small mesh for holding small particles, wool and other debris. The smaller dust is retained by HEPA filter. The container has a plastic plug that prevents debris from falling out.
A water tank with a capacity of 300 milliliters is more easily inserted and removed from the vacuum cleaner because it does not have a rubber part that holds HEPA filter.
The robot vacuum cleaner “understands” when a water container is inserted into it and switches off the turbine. The solution is simple, a small magnet is soldered into the water container, thanks to which the robot vacuum cleaner identifies this container and turns off the turbine.
The charging base is made of plastic. It has a rounded shape especially for the vacuum cleaner. From the top we see an indicator that shows the working state, and from below there are two metal pins through which the vacuum cleaner is charged.
The control panel is slightly different from other ILIFE models. The company decided to make it glossy and slightly shift the control buttons.
The top button with the house sends the robot to the base, the arrows control the direction of movement, the central button sends robot for cleaning. Timer button allows to set the daily cleaning time. Unique features is MAX button, which regulates the speed of rotation of the turbine, while increasing the suction power from 550Pa to 850Pa. The remote control powered by two AAA batteries.
The main difference of LIFE X5 vacuum cleaner is virtual wall. It allows you to restrict work area of the vacuum cleaner, not allowing it to cross the border. The virtual wall powered by two AA batteries.
Using ILIFE X5
Robotic vacuum cleaner iLife X5 has four cleaning modes:
Auto cleaning mode until almost complete discharge of the battery. The vacuum cleaner moves in a straight line from the obstacle to the obstacle, chaotically changing direction after the collision, and some time follows along the walls. After completing the cleaning, iLife X5 returns to the base to charge the battery.
Manual cleaning mode – the direction of movement of the robot is controlled with buttons of the remote control.
Spot cleaning mode of a particular place. You need to move the robot to a particular place and press SPOT on vacuum clear or MAX on remote control. The robot will start cleaning on the unfolding and then folding spiral in a circle about one meter in diameter.
Another option for cleaning is to move along walls and obstacles. This mode is enabled by a button on the remote with an icon with arrows and square.
Also iLIFE X5 allows to schedule a daily cleaning in automatic mode for a certain time. You can set the time on the body of iLife X5.
You can start the vacuum cleaner by pressing the touch buttons on the body or using remote control. The battery capacity of the vacuum cleaner is 2600 mAh. The full charge of ILIFE X5 vacuum cleaner takes about 3.5 hours. The battery life is about 80 minutes.
The noise level is 58 dBA. It’s not very quiet, but much less than many old vacuum cleaners. During the day, the vacuum cleaner will not interfere much, but at night you will definitely hear it.
You need to select cleaning mode, and everything else iLIFE X5 will do itself. The vacuum cleaner moves almost everywhere over the surface: it rides on the carpet, low thresholds between rooms, etc.
If the user does not tell about the end of cleaning, then vacuum cleaner works until full discharge of the battery. After that it returns to the base for charging. The robot quickly finds the base, and confidently parked.

The virtual wall creates an insurmountable barrier for ILIFE X5 vacuum cleaner. The main thing is for you to properly place the virtual wall: you can see working area and an invisible area at the top. The vacuum cleaner must be in the work area.
How to clean ILIFE X5 vacuum cleaner?
After the vacuum cleaner has finished cleaning, you must return it to the base for recharging or turn it off. Then press on the top panel Push to open the lid. Remove the garbage container (or water tank). Carefully remove the container so as not to spill out any debris.
After that, throw out the garbage, remove both filters and clean them with a special brush. You should not wet the filters, because they may be deteriorate. You can wash the plastic container under the water, then leave it to dry.
Also pay attention to the brushes under the vacuum cleaner. You should remove and clean them, for example, from hair or other debris.
