Review Uhans Max 2: 6.44 inch smartphone, or good alternative to tablet

The Chinese manufacturer Uhans released its new smartphone with diagonal close to the tablet. It is called Uhans Max 2. Such big screen allows to watch movies, photos and other multimedia content.

In addition, the smartphone supports microSD cards and connection of external storage devices (HDD and SSD). Among other features of Uhans Max 2 are: big battery and four cameras – dual front and rear. So, Uhans Max 2 is very interesting smartphone, and we want to make its first review.

Design

New smartphone is available in two color options: classic black and gold (with a white front panel). The rear panel and side faces are covered with a metal plate, and plastic inserts on top and bottom. The display is protected by 2.5D curved glass. Despote its quite big screen, it is very comfortable smartphone, thanks to it weight (245 g), as well as dimensions (176.5 x 89.2 x 9.2 mm).

The main advantage of Uhans Max 2 is a huge 6.44-inch display. Even with such a diagonal, thanks to Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080), it is more than enough pixel density to make a clear image. The display is made using the “full lamination” GFF technology, which means no gap between the glass, the screen and the touch panel.

In such a solution there are a number of advantages. The screen fades less at an angle, transmits a brighter, contrasting image.Thanks to a significant improvement in the anti-glare properties and reduced reflection effect, the content on the screen is read without problems even on the street, in bright sunlight. And, finally, due to GFF technology, the response time of the touch panel is reduced.

Display Uhans Max 2 has a high margin of brightness, wide viewing angles. Using the settings, you can can access to MiraVision tool, with which you can independently set various parameters of the image, including the level of color temperature, contrast, and so on.

Uhans Max 2: Performance and memory

The SoC is used MediaTek MT6750T, an improved version of MT6750. It supports Full HD displays, up to 650 MHz integrated GPU frequency, and a higher RAM (833 MHz). The chipset includes a 64-bit processor, with 8 Cortex-A53 cores: 4 energy-efficient cores operate at 1 GHz, while the frequency of more productive 4 cores reaches 1.5 GHz. For graphics processing meets the graphics accelerator Mali-T860 MP2.

Despite the relatively low (by modern standards) test results in benchmarks, the smartphone demonstrates good performance in everyday tasks, and copes with playback of FullHD video in the HEVC/H.265 codec without any problems.

On average graphics settings you can count on an acceptable level of FPS in games, like Real Racing 3 and World of Tanks Blitz.

In addition, Uhans Max 2 is equipped with a good amount of RAM (4 GB of LPDDR3 standard), thanks to which it is possible to work with several applications simultaneously, without unloading and delays when switching between them. The internal storage is 64 GB. Also, there is a possibility of expansion due to microSD card (up to 128GB).

Uhans Max 2: Battery

The smartphone Uhans Max 2 has a removable battery with a capacity of 4300 mAh. This will be enough for about a day of battery life, in moderately active mode of operation, or for 10 hours of continuous video playback.

With less intensive loads, you can count on one and a half, or even two days of work. It is very good result, given the size of the screen. The device supports fast charging technology Pump Express 2.0, and it is equipped with a power adapter 5V/2A.

Cameras

Uhans Max 2 is equipped with dual front and rear cameras. On the front and rear panels are placed 13-megapixel cameras, which are supplemented by auxiliary sensors at 2MP.

The second camera is used for blur the background of portrait photos. The level of blur is adjusted by moving the slider. The main photomodule is supplemented by flash and autofocus, supports video recording in 1920 x 1080 resolution, with a frame rate of 30 FPS. In the daytime, imagea are very good with high level of sharpness, contrast and color rendition.

During taking photos in low light conditions, the user will face the same problems as any other budget smartphone. The camera cannot determinate the white balance correctly, there is noise and a significant decrease in detail. On the other hand, you cannot find an inexpensive tablet that can provide a better quality than Uhans Max 2.

Operating system

Uhans Max 2 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with new features, for example multi-window mode. It is really imporant for the large display. This mode allows to split the working area of the screen for two apps. The operating system is upgraded using OTA packages automatically with an active Internet connection.

Wireless Interfaces

The integrated RF module provides support for 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks in almost any region. Thanks to LTE Cat.6 technology, the user is given access to a mobile Internet with a high data rate (up to 300 Mbps). The smartphone is compatible with Wi-Fi wireless networks b/g/n (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.0.

GPS navigation system is responsible for location. The navigation module provides quick connection to satellites, high-quality and stable signal reception. The accuracy of the location is quite high, when recording GPS tracks there are no failures.

Advantages and disadvantages of Uhans Max 2

A typical smartphone with a diagonal of 5 to 5.5 inches is quite suitable for multimedia content. Nevertheless, if you want to watch movies, read e-books, surf the Internet, play games and type messages, it’s much more comfortable to use a device with a larger screen diagonal. This may be a tablet, or the smartphone like Uhans Max 2 with 6.44 inch display.

Uhans Max 2 is very interesting smartphone for $159 , which can be considered as an affordable alternative to the more expensive Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max 2. In addition, the model is able to compete with Doogee Y6 Max, which also has a large screen, but it also has smaller amounts of memory.
