Xiaomi Mi6X specifications

Most recently, the head of Xiaomi personally denied the information that the company is going to release a successor to Xiaomi Mi 5c this year. However, despite this statement, in the benchmark Geekbench 4 appeared specifications of some device, code-named Xiaomi Jason. Performance

Snapdragon 660 processor is a mid-segment solution, but its power is almost comparable with the flagship of early 2016 – Snapdragon 820. At the same time, it significantly surpasses the predecessor Snapdragon 652/653 both in cores (Kryo all the same), and on the technical process, which became twice thinner.

In practice, you should expect a very fast work as a shell, and any tasks and heavy games, while heating and spending battery will be at a minimum. Undoubted advantage of Xiaomi Mi6X should become from 4 to 6 GB RAM. It means that smartphone will be possible to run many tasks.

Camera

As for the main camera, it should please all lovers of mobile photography, since Sony IMX378 sensor is a very advanced photo module. First, it has enough megapixels, while the pixel size is as much as 1.55 microns. Secondly, one of the best cameraphones Google Pixel uses a similar sensor, which already speaks for itself. Also, Sony IMX378 module is used in Xiaomi Mi 5s, but there Xiaomi saved on lenses, which negatively affected the quality of photos from the smartphone. We hope that on Xiaomi Mi6X the manufacturer will not save on such an important component.

We know only one thing about front camera – it will get a low resolution of 4 ultra pixels. It allows to take high-quality selfies in conditions of insufficient illumination.

Xiaomi Mi6X comparison with Xiaomi Mi 5C

Since Xiaomi Mi6X clearly claims to be powerful mid-ranger, we should compare it with another device from Xiaomi – Mi 5C.

Xiaomi doesn’t talk about its own Surge S1 chipset, so we think that the company decided to abandon it in favor of a more productive and modern Snapdragon 660. Also new smartphone will have more RAM, and its speed will be increased in 2 times, which positively affects on overall speed.

The camera will be changed, although the resolution remained the same. Nevertheless, we should expect much better photo and video quality, especially in case of lack of light due to the increased size of pixels and a lighter lens.

The main disadvantage of Xiaomi Mi 5c is its weak battery, while budget smartphone Redmi 4X for $110 offers even larger battery for 4100 mAh. If we talk about Xiaomi Mi6X, the battery capacity will be average between Redmi and Mi5/Mi5c phones – about 3500 mAh. This capacity is enough for a day and a half work with the average mode of use.

While all information about the upcoming smartphone is at the stage of rumors, although leaked benchmark test are quite reliable. Xiaomi Mi6X is expected to appear in August 2017, while the price will be about $294. Given the specs and price of smartphone, we expect a large demand for the new smartphone immediately after its release.
