Samsung Display will invest a huge sum in the production of displays
Samsung Display Company plans to increase its investment in the expansion of production in Vietnam displays. This sources told Reuters, specified that until 2020 the company intends to spend for this purpose an additional $ 3 billion.
The company expects that production capacity in Vietnam will reduce production costs on a background of growing price competition in the smartphone market. However, Samsung has not yet decided on the specifics of the investment.
The news comes shortly after the information from the investment of $ 1 billion allocated for Samsung Display plant to produce OLED-displays in the Vietnamese province of Bac Ninh (Bac Ninh). In November last year the company approved an investment of $ 3 billion for the construction of a second plant for the production of smart phones in North Vietnam.
Expand production OLED-displays and Korean LG Display, which, as it became known last month, plans to invest $ 908 million in the construction of a new plant for the production of OLED-displays. Its construction will be completed in the II quarter of 2017, and the plant’s production capacity will be twice the current opportunities LG Display.
