Speedy RU Smart First REVIEW: Forget About Electric Bike – Here is Electric Moped!

Super Soco company is widely known on the market of electric scooters and motorcycles. Their models are popular not only in China, but also in Europe. Today a new bicycle or moped called Speedy RU Smart appeared on Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform.

The new compact electric moped has 350W motor, mileage of 80 km on a single charge and maximum speed up to 25 km per hour. In addition, the new moped received a very stylish retro design with 5 different color options.

Let’s make the first review of new Speedy RU Smart, and find out its features.

Speedy RU Smart: Design

We really like the design of Speedy RU Smart electric moped. It has a retro style and looks very attractive.

As we already said, the electric moped is available in 5 color options: white, red, gray, orange and blue. It’s great that there are so many options, and the buyer can choose not only black or white color, but also bright colors.

On the front of the moped, we see a large white LED flashlight. The bright light of the lantern shines 25 meters ahead, making it safe to move around the city at night or in poor street lighting.

On the steering wheel are two levers to control the front and rear brakes. Above the steering wheel there are two round mirrors to monitor the transport that is behind you. You can adjust the position of the mirrors according to your height. The mirrors themselves are installed on long thin legs, and resemble insect whiskers. Very nice!

Also on the steering wheel there is a small display. The screen shows the battery level, distance, speed and time.

There are red and orange light reflectors on the front and rear wheels. Thanks to these reflectors, the moped is clearly visible on the road.

Behind the seat is a large red lantern. As you can see, the manufacturer did not save on lighting, and tried to protect the driver of Speedy RU Smart as much as possible.

The seat of the electric moped rises, and under it is the battery. But we’ll talk about the battery a little later.

Also, there is a trunk behind the seat. You can carry things or even give a ride to one of your friends.

The electric moped has a double retractable leg, so it does not fall on its side while parked.

Speedy RU Smart has tires with a diameter of 16-inches.

Speedy RU Smart: Features

Now let’s talk about main features of the new electric moped.

As you can see, Speedy RU Smart looks like a mix of a moped and a bicycle. It is equipped with a powerful motor of 350W, as well as pedals on the sides. You can ride the electric moped in three modes: electric, mixed or pedal.

Speedy RU Smart can reach the maximum speed of up to 25 km per hour. This is quite enough for daily movement in the city.

The electric bicycle can be connected to the smartphone through a special application. The app provides all necessary information about the electric moped and its condition, such as distance per day, battery level and GPS.

By the way, thanks to GPS positioning function, you can always see on the map where the electric moped is located. This feature can be useful if you move around an unfamiliar city, and forget which street your Speedy RU Smart is parked on.

As we wrote earlier, the battery of the new electric moped is removable, and it is under the seat. Battery weight is 6.4 kg.

It is very convenient that the battery can be charged separately from the moped, and there is no need to pull the Speedy RU Smart into the apartment to the outlet. It is enough to remove the battery and charge it at home, in a cafe or office.

The full battery charge takes only 6-7 hours.

By the way, two small remote controls come with the electric moped. Judging by the buttons on remote control, it is designed to lock the wheels or even alarm. There is no exact information about it yet.

The remote has three buttons “Power, “Unlock” and “Lock”. We will be pleasantly surprised if the manufacturer provides a built-in alarm.

Speedy RU Smart: Price

To be honest, we do not even know how Speedy RU Smart will be classified in Europe and US. In China, it is sold as an electric bicycle, but in Europe most likely it will be a moped.

At the moment, you can buy Speedy RU Smart electric moped only on Xiaomi Youpin website at a price of $566.

In my opinion, this is a great price for a stylish retro moped with 80 km of battery life, 3 riding modes, a maximum speed of 25 km per hour and removable battery.
