Umidigi F1: Design
UMIDIGI F1 recently presented officially. If you look at specifications, then its purchase looks like a bargain. UMIDIGI F1 has everything you need. Let’s start with design.
The screen is almost bezel-less, while the waterdrop notch above the display is very small. On the back of the smartphone is dual vertical camera and fingerprint scanner.
We should note about red color option of Umidigi F1. It looks amazing, at least on official photos. Also, the smartphone will be available in black and gold colors.
Umidigi F1: Display
The smartphone comes with IPS panel. It has a diagonal of 6.3-inches. Thanks to 19:9 aspect ratio, the size of UMIDIGI F1 is almost the same as 5.5-inch smartphone.
The display resolution is standard here – 1080×2340 pixels. It supports up to 10 touches simultaneous touches. There is an oleophobic and anti-reflective coating. The glass is rounded at the edges.
The color rendition of IPS panel is not amazing, but we cannot call it bad. It is very good for this price category.
What about the performance of UMIDIGI F1?
UMIDIGI F1: Performance
The Pocophone F1 killer from UMIDIGI is powered by the latest processor from MediaTek. It is octa-core Helio P60 chipset, released in 2018. It is built on 12-nm process technology and belongs to the mid-range processors.
The processor consists of eight cores, divided into two clusters: the first four – ARM Cortex-A73 – more productive, while the rest – less productive cores ARM Cortex-A73. The maximum operating frequency of all cores is the same – 2.0GHz. Graphics chip Mali-G72 with three active cores operating at a frequency of up to 800 MHz is responsible for the quality of graphics processing.
UMIDIGI F1 is equipped with 4GB of RAM. Together with powerful processor, the smartphone has quite good results in synthetic test. For example, it scores more than 100.000 points in AnTuTu.
New mobile device offers 128GB of storage. The smartphone will run on latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system.
UMIDIGI F1 is equipped with all the necessary wireless interfaces. It even supports NFC for contactless payment.
Another advantage of new UMIDIGI smartphone is battery. It has a capacity of 5150mAh. UMIDIGI F1 provides two days of battery life of a single change. There is also support of fast charging 18W. The full battery charge will take an hour and a half.
UMIDIGI F1: Camera
As for the cameras, UMIDIGI F1 also looks pretty good. The main camera is dual with 16MP main sensor and f/1.7 aperture and 8MP secondary sensor. According to specifications, the sensors are good, but it is difficult to say about photo quality without real sample photos.
Umidigi F1: Comparison with Pocophone F1 and Vernee M8 Pro

UMIDIGI F1 vs Pocophone F1 vs Vernee M8 Pro
We decided to compare UMIDIGI F1 with its competitor Pocophone F1 and its twin brother from another manufacturer – Vernee M8 Pro. After studying the technical specifications, we can conclude the following things:
1) UMIDIGI F1 is worse than Pocophone F1. The difference in price is small – only $40, however, the budget Xiaomi flagship is twice as powerful as UMIDIGI F1. Just look on AnTuTu results.
2) Vernee M8 Pro is worse than UMIDIGI F1: it costs almost as much as Pocophone F1, but it has even worse cameras.
UMIDIGI F1 could be a winner in this comparison, if not Snapdragon 845 in Pocophone F1. The flagship chipset makes the smartphone from Xiaomi is one of the best smartphones in 2018. However, UMIDIGI F1 is still good for its price.
We are waiting for the second generation, perhaps it will be able to become a real killer of Pocophone F1 and other flagships, but for now UMIDIGI F1 deserves the title of a good mid-range smartphone.
Umidigi F1: Price and Release Date
