Xiaomi iReader T6 First REVIEW: The First E-Book From Xiaomi 2019!
At the end of 2018, Xiaomi announced its first e-book called Xiaomi iReader T6. Now Xiaomi fans, who like to read books, can put their smartphones and tablets aside and use electronic book. As you know, e-book is much less tiring for the eyes while reading than a smartphone.
Xiaomi iReader T6 is a compact and very light e-book, which lasts more than two weeks on a single charge. Also, it supports the most popular formats of electronic books.
We have prepared the first review of new Xiaomi e-book. As usual, we will talk about main features, and share our impressions about the device.

Xiaomi iReader T6: Design
As you may have noticed, the design of iReader T6 is not much different from most other e-books. The gadget has a rectangular shape of black matte color. The body is made of plastic.
One of the main advantages of Xiaomi e-book is its size. The dimensions are 154.9 x 108.7 mm, while the thickness is only 7.4 mm. The weight of e-book is 166 grams.
Xiaomi iReader T6 is a little bigger than a regular smartphone, but the weight is even less. You can carry a book with you in the backpack, bag, or even pocket. It is very convenient to read on the go.
Most of the front panel is occupied by black and white display E-Ink Carta 1.2 with resolution of 1448 × 1072 pixels. This is 6-inch screen with a pixel density of 300 ppi. It is touch, so you don’t need control buttons.
During the reading, you can change the brightness from cold to warm at 20 different levels. It is a very useful function, because you can choose the screen brightness depending on the lighting around: day, night or indoors.
Another nice feature is the bezels around the screen. They are much thinner than, for example, Kindle e-books.
On the rear panel there are four magnetic connectors. They are used to connecting a special cover to Xiaomi e-book. The cover protects the book from damage, and also puts it into sleep mode to save battery.
The top panel has one physical button to power on/off the device. It also allows you to change the position of the text from vertical to horizontal.
Xiaomi iReader T6 has USB Type-C charging port, microphone and speaker grille on the bottom.
Xiaomi iReader T6: Functions
iReader T6 is powered by quad-core Freescale i.MX6 processor. Also, e-book has 8GB of internal memory. In fact, you don’t need high performance on e-book to read books.
New Xiaomi gadget runs iReader UI 2.0 operating system. Xiaomi iReader T6 has its own store that provides free access to various books, magazines and even comics.
You can also download books using built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n 2.4 GHz. This is a big advantage, because it is not always convenient to connect the e-book to a laptop or computer to transfer files.
So far, the e-book supports only two languages: Chinese and English.
Xiaomi iReader T6 supports the following formats: EBK, TXT, UMD, EPUD, PDF and MOBI. Unfortunately, there is no support for FB2 and FB3. This is rather strange, but in any case, you can find your favorite books and magazines in supported formats.
As for the battery, the new iReader T6 e-book is equipped with battery capacity of 1500 mAh. The manufacturer promises more than two weeks of battery life on a single charge.
As we wrote earlier, the protective case allows you to save battery. Closing the case, the e-book automatically goes into sleep mode.
Xiaomi iReader T6: Price
Xiaomi iReader T6 is already on sale in China. You can order it in Chinese online stores for the price of $140. The price is slightly lower than, for example, Kindle e-book.
