Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 First REVIEW: It is BETTER Than Any Robot Vacuum Cleaner!

Almost a year ago, JIMMY introduced its first cordless vertical vacuum cleaner called JIMMY JV51. We want to recall you that JIMMY is a partner of popular Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi. JIMMY JV51 has changed the market of vacuum cleaners, and  cordless vertical vacuum cleaner are become very popular.

After 10 months, JIMMY company introduced a new wireless vertical vacuum cleaner called Xiaomi JIMMY JV53. It received an improved motor with a suction power of 20,000 Pa, a lightweight body only 1.46 kg and a battery life up to 45 minutes on a single charge.

We want to remind you that a good robot vacuum cleaner, for example, Xiaomi Mijia 1S, has a suction power of 2000 Pa. The suction power of the new Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 is 10 times more – 20,000 Pa! This is very interesting, isn’t it?

JIMMY JV53 is a more powerful and improved version of JIMMY JV51, but the price remains the same – $199.

Today we will make the first review of Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 wireless vertical vacuum cleaner. As usual, we’ll talk about design, specifications, features and where to buy.

Xiaomi JIMMY JV53: Design

The manufacturer did not devote too much time to the appearance of Xiaomi JIMMY JV53. The new vacuum cleaner looks exactly the same as the previous version of JIMMY JV51. However, there are some differences, for example, the color of the main brush has been changed from completely red to blue with red. The metal tube is now purple, not red, as it was before.

Is it better or worse – we can’t say. It depends on that what colors do you like. Anyway, the vacuum cleaner is the same lightweight, compact and easy to use.

Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 comes only in a white matte color with bright colors of the tube and brush. The weight of the vacuum cleaner is 1.46 kg.

The vacuum cleaner consists of three parts: the main body with a motor, a metal tube and a brush. The main part is a small block with a handle, inside of which there is the main mechanical part of the vacuum cleaner, including the motor, battery and dust cup. By the way, this part of the vacuum cleaner is the heaviest – 1.4 kg.

The metal tube is attached to the main part. However, you can use the vacuum cleaner without a tube by installing the brush directly to the main body. Of course, your hand will get tired after a while, since you need to hold the vacuum cleaner in your hand all the time.

The length of the tube is adjustable, and you can change it depending on your height. It is very convenient for different family members – everyone can change the length of the vacuum cleaner for themselves.

Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 has several control buttons: the first one to start and stop cleaning, the second – to switch to turbo mode. The start button is located on the inside of the handle. In other words, when holding the vacuum cleaner, the finger is located on the button, which is very convenient.

On the inside there is a button to remove the rube, as well as a button to open the lid of the dust cup. All buttons are highlighted in purple.

In the upper part there is a compartment for HEPA filter. It is also purple. The dust cup is located at the bottom. Its volume is 0.55 liters.

The battery is attached between the dust cup and the handle to hold the vacuum cleaner.

Now let’s look at the main brush. Its length is 26 cm. The brush has a short-nap roller that perfectly collects small debris. Hair or wool is not wound on a roller, but is immediately absorbed into the vacuum cleaner.

By the way, the brush is maneuverable and rotates 65 degrees. This means that cleaning under a sofa, table or cupboard is no problem.

Due to its compact size, Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 does not take up much space in the apartment, which is also a good bonus.

JIMMY JV53 vacuum cleaner comes in a large cardboard box. In addition to the vacuum cleaner itself, you get additional nozzles and brushes: a bright purple tube made of aluminum, a large main brush, a mini turbo brush for upholstered furniture, a power adapter, a charging cable, a battery and a user manual.

Also in the box you will find two different nozzles with retractable bristles. They are designed to collect small debris, hair or wool in hard-to-reach places or, for example, for cleaning in a car.

By the way, a mini turbo brush is designed to clean furniture from dust mites and allergens.

A vertical cordless vacuum cleaner is very easy to assemble and you are unlikely to need instructions.

Xiaomi JIMMY JV53: Specifications

Now let’s talk about the specifications. Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 is equipped with a motor with a suction power of 20,000 Pa, which is more than the previous model – 17,000 Pa. This is a third generation brushless motor with a rotation speed of 100,000 rpm.

The power of the motor itself is 425 watts, and the efficiency is 55%.

Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 has two cleaning modes: standard and turbo. The maximum noise level is 78 dB. We agree with you that this is not very quiet, but it is a standard noise level for vertical vacuum cleaners.

Thanks to a powerful motor and a special brush, Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 vacuum cleaner successfully fights not only dust and small debris, but also removes dust mites.

As we already said, the size of the dust cup is 0.55 liters. This volume is enough for everyday cleaning, even in a large room. You do not have to clean the cup several times during one cleaning.

Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 is equipped with HEPA filter to filter even the smallest and lightest debris. The filter is used in most modern vacuum cleaners, including robot vacuum cleaners, and it is a kind of standard today. The manufacturer promises 99% filtering of dust.

Xiaomi JIMMY JV53: Battery

As for the battery, Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 received a 2500 mAh battery. The battery is removable, and if necessary, you can buy another one. If one is dead, you can install another and continue cleaning. It takes about 4 hours to charge the battery.

The battery life of the vertical vacuum cleaner depends on the cleaning mode and the brush you are using.

If an electric brush is installed, then the vacuum cleaner is able to work up to 35 minutes in standard mode. In turbo mode – 7 minutes.

When using a non-electric brush, the battery life in standard mode increases to 45 minutes, and in turbo mode – up to 8 minutes.

We think 40 minutes is more than enough to finish cleaning a medium-sized room.

Xiaomi JIMMY JV53: Price

As our first review showed, Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 is a good wireless vacuum cordless vacuum cleaner that can easily compete with other vertical vacuum cleaners. It has a high suction power of 20,000 Pa, 45 minutes of cleaning time on a single charge, a large dust cup and many useful brushes.

Using Xiaomi JIMMY JV53, you can clean not only the floor coverings, but also clean the furniture.

The price of Xiaomi JIMMY JV53 is pretty good – $199. If you are interested in buying this vertical vacuum cleaner, then we advise you to hurry up, since from August 15 its cost will increase to $219.
