Xiaomi Mi Max 3 and Mi Max 3 Pro: Performance

As we can see, these phones have very similar specifications, but the difference is in chipset. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will have a great processor Snapdragon 636, which by the way is already built into Redmi Note 5. It scores about 120 000 points in AnTuTu, which is a fairly high result. It says that Mi Max 3 will easily cope with any tasks, from office apps to demanding games. If you want to see the performance of upcoming Mi Max 3, then just look at Redmi Note 5. So, we conclude that the third generation of Mi Max will be good.

Now let’s move on to Pro version. It is powered by new Snapdragon 710 processor. It is even more powerful than Snapdragon 636, and it has about 170 000 points in AnTuTu. The same chipset is already used in Xiaomi Mi 8 SE.

In addition, I would like to draw attention to the amount of RAM in these new phones. The user will choose from three models: 3GB, 4GB or 6GB. We want just say that you should not buy the youngest model, since 3GB of RAM is not enough for 2018. 4GB of RAM is the most optimal option at the moment.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 and Mi Max 3 Pro: Design

The smartphones design will be very similar to Mi 8 SE. Bezel-less huge displays will be located on the front panel. On the back there is dual camera and a fingerprint scanner.

Both cases are made of aluminum. Also we should note about battery. Both phones will have 5400 mAh batteries. Yes, it is really big batteries, but the phones also have large displays. So, the battery life will be about 1-2 days.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 and Mi Max 3 Pro: Display

The screens for these new phones are just huge. Today there are absolutely no analogues. Their diagonal is as much as 6.9 inches, and aspect ratio is 2:1.

Do you remember those huge Chinese tablets about 6 years ago, whose diagonal was 7 inches? So, every year the phones are getting bigger and bigger, but in our opinion 7 inches should be the last point. Why? First, it is not convenient, and secondly, there are tablets, especially for those who need a huge display.

However, if we talk about Xiaomi new phones, they have bezel-less displays, so their dimensions are not so large as tablets.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 and Mi Max 3 Pro: Camera

Now we come to the cameras. These smartphones have the same camera sensor IMX363. We already met this sensor in ASUS Zenfone 5, and it really good. We can expect high-quality photos from Mi Max 3 and Mi Max 3 Pro.

The second sensor will provide depth effect. As for the front cmera, they are also the same on Mi Max 3 and Pro version. It will be 8MP sensor with good detail and natural color rendering.

As for performance, these smartphones are exactly the same, they have the same chipset and the same RAM options.

The cameras are also very similar. The only different that Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has IMX363 sensor, while Redmi Note 5 comes with Samsung S5K2L7. In fact, these sensors are not much different, so we can safely say that smartphones make the same images.

The main difference between these devices is in displays. Redmi Note 5 comes with 6-inch diagonal, which is almost one inch smaller than Xiaomi Mi Max 3. If you look at them, the naked eye will see that the picture in Redmi Note 5 is a little sharper and better.

At the moment, the price of Redmi Note 5 is $200 for the version with 4GB of RAM. Most likely, Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will cost more, but again, we focus on its display. We cannot recommend which phone to buy, because smartphones are fundamentally different only in screens.

The difference is really big, but you should not forget about display. Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is equipped with Super AMOLED display. It has more saturated, brighter and detailed image. Also, SuperAMOLED is much more energy efficient than IPS. If you choose wallpaper of black color, then your smartphone will be able to work for several days.

Of course, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is more expensive, because it is mid-range device. Its price starts from $350.
