XIDU Tour Pro First REVIEW: 12.5-inch 2K Touch Display Laptop!
Finally, the new laptop from XIDU is announced. It is called XIDU Tour Pro. Unlike the previous notebooks, such as XIDU PhilBook Max, which had a full 360-degree convertible design, the new Tour Pro laptop has only 180-degree convertible display. However, it still has touchscreen, fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, 2K screen resolution, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD memory.
I am very excited of XIDU Tour Pro. Let’s make first review of the new laptop, and find out all the features.
XIDU Tour Pro: Design
So, let’s start with design of new XIDU Tour Pro. First, it is compact laptop, because it has 12.5-inch display. The dimensions are 290 x 201 x 15 mm. The weight is about 1200 grams.
I already said that Tour Pro has 180-degree convertible display. You can see the video below how to use the convertible screen. Unfortunately, it is not fully convertible, so it can’t be rotated 360 degrees and used as a tablet. However, it is still an interesting solution.
If you want 360-degree convertible laptop, then you should look at other XIDU notebooks, for example, PhilBook Max and PhilBook Pro.
OK, another feature of the new XIDU Tour Pro is fingerprint reader. Have you ever seen fingerprint scanner on a budget laptop? I have not. Tour Pro also has backlit keyboard.
Talking about interfaces, XIDU Tour Pro has USB Type-C port, USB 3.0 port, microSD card slot, 3.5 mm audio jack and DC charging port.
USB Type-C port is great, but you cannot use it for charging.
XIDU Tour Pro: Display
OK, it’s time to talk about display, because it is very interesting. As I already said, it has a diagonal of 12.5-inches. However, its main feature is 2K resolution, 2560 x 1440 pixels. The screen is very sharp and high-detail.
The Chinese manufacturer says about 88% of screen to body ratio. It means the bezels around the screen are very thin. It is really so, and you can see that on the video above.
Finally, the display is touchscreen. I have already used touch-screen laptops, and it’s really handy. After a while, you do not pay attention to the touchpad anymore because you just do not need it.
XIDU Tour Pro: Hardware
XIDU Tour Pro is a budget laptop, so you should not expect high performance from it. Of course, it is not intended for heavy games, photo and video editing.
The laptop is for office workers and students. You can open office apps, presentations, Word, etc. You can also watch 2K videos on YouTube.
As for the hardware, Tour Pro has Intel Kaby Lake R 3867U with maximum clock speed of 1.8 GHz and Intel HD Graphics 610 300 MHz.
On the other hand, the laptop has a lot of memory. 8GB of RAM is good for multitasking, while 128GB of SSD provides fast booting-up and apps opening.
The new XIDU Tour Pro supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. It runs on Windows 10. This is a global English version, so you will not have any problems.
XIDU Tour Pro: Battery
XIDU Tour Pro is a compact ultrabook, so it has quite small battery. The battery capacity is 5000mAh, but the manufacturer promises 6-8 hours of video playback.
I cannot check it right now, because I don’t have the laptop. If that’s true, then battery life is very good.
