Haylou GT2 First REVIEW: It Is Even Cheaper Than Haylou GT1!

The last week we wrote the article about Haylou GT1 Pro wireless earbuds. They have high-quality sound, convenient touch control buttons, 12 hours of battery life and price only $20. It is not surprise that the Chinese manufacturer has already sold over 60.000 units.

Now Haylou launches the second version of wireless earphones – Haylou GT2. The new earbuds have a very compact size, a built-in USB charging cable, 7.2 mm speakers, noise reduction technology and battery life of up to 15 hours.

Perhaps the most pleasant feature of Haylou GT2 is price – only $18.

Xiaomi Haylou GT2: Design

The new Haylou GT2 wireless earbuds received several design changes. The size of charging case is the same – 6.2 x 4 x 2.7 cm. It has an elongated shape and rounded edges, making it very convenient to hold in one hand.

However, the charging case lost its top cover. Yes, the charging case does not close, and the earbuds just stick on magnets. To be honest, we are not sure if this is a good idea. What if the magnets fail and you lose Haylou GT2? It will be very unpleasant.

The weight of charging case is 35 grams.

Another feature of charging case is built-in USB cable for charging. It is located on the right side of the case. It is very convenient! You no longer need to look for a charging cable or carry it with you. Earbuds can be charged at any time.

The charging case does not have any logos, inscriptions or LEDs.

But each earbud has a company logo. On the outside, Haylou GT2 earphones have a small round control button with Haylou logo. By the way, this is a physical control button, but we’ll talk about it later.

Below the button is LED indicator.

On the inside of earbuds there are two magnetic connectors for charging, a microphone, speakers and rubber ear pads.

By the way, the ear pads are interchangeable, and you get two more pairs of different sizes.

The size of each earbud is 27.2 x 16.7 x 22 mm, and the weight is only 3.7 grams.

Haylou GT2 is made of plastic, and the earbuds come only in matte black.

The new earphones are protected from water and dust, but we do not know the standard.

If you are interested in my opinion, then the new Haylou GT2 earphones have a very interesting design. Yes, we still doubt the reliability of charging case without a top cover, but this is something new. Most likely, the manufacturer tested the earbud mount in the charging case, and we should not worry about this.

Haylou GT2: Specifications and Functions

This is not the first time we’ve tested wireless TWS earbuds. Thanks to TWS technology, the earphones are connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth.

As a rule, the right earphone is the main one, and it connects to the smartphone. The second earbud (left) connects to the right one. Thus, we get stereo sound.

Haylou GT2 uses Bluetooth 5.0. As you know, the latest version of Bluetooth offers faster data transfer, reducing the delay in playing sound on a smartphone and earbuds.

In addition, Bluetooth 5.0 provides continuous connectivity up to 10 meters away.

The wireless earbuds are equipped with 7.2 mm speakers. They guarantee clear mid and high frequencies as well as powerful bass.

To be honest, we don’t think that the sound quality will be very different from the first version of Haylou GT1.

We have checked the sound quality of Haylou GT1, and listened to music of different genres: rock, classical and electronic. Regardless of the genre of music, the sound of Haylou GT1 was clear and enjoyable. We hope that Haylou GT2 will have the same sound, maybe even better.

Also, the new Haylou GT2 earbuds are equipped with a microphone and DSP noise reduction. During a conversation through earphones, you and your interlocutor will hear each other well even on a noisy street.

Haylou GT2: Control

As we wrote earlier, on the outside of each earbud there are physical control buttons. They allow you to play and stop the song, accept and reject calls. Also, the user can switch songs.

In addition, the new wireless earbuds support Siri, Google Assistant or Xiao Ai voice assistants. To do this, you need to press the button three times on any earbud.

Haylou GT2: Battery life

As for battery life, each of the earbud is equipped with 43 mAh battery. One charge is enough for 4 hours of continuous listening to music. The earphones need about 1.5 hours to fully charge.

Despite its compact size, the charging case is equipped with a built-in 380 mAh battery. It increases the battery life of the earbuds up to 15 hours.

Xiaomi Haylou GT2: Price and buy

Xiaomi Haylou GT2 earbuds are already available for sale at a price of $18. In my opinion, this is a very good deal if you need wireless earbuds with high-quality sound, convenient control and good battery life.

Haylou GT2 is a near-perfect wireless earbuds with a price tag of just $18.
