We thought that Xiaomi cannot surprise us after the release of smart toothbrushes, telescopes and other unusual devices. However, yesterday Chinese manufacturer introduced Xiaomi Yekee YE-01 – a wireless vertical robot vacuum cleaner. The new gadget looks like a robot vacuum cleaner, but it has a vertical handle for control. To be honest, we have not seen this before!
Xiaomi Yekee YE-01 combines stylish, unique design, 1300 rpm high-speed brush, 2000mAh battery and 350 ml waste container.
As usual, we are talking about the main features and specifications of new device in the first review. Later we will try to make unboxing and full review of Xiaomi Yekee YE-01.
Xiaomi Yekee YE-01: Design
Xiaomi gadgets always look stylish, modern and futuristic. Yekee YE-01 vacuum cleaner is no exception. It comes only in white matte color with few black and red details. The vacuum cleaner made of plastic and aluminum.
The dimensions of Xiaomi Yekee YE-01 are very compact – 27 x 17 x 5.7 cm. As you understand, you will not need a lot of space for storage or transportation. Because of its low weight – only 1.5 kg, even children can use the vacuum cleaner. In addition, your hands will not get tired during a long cleaning.
Yekee YE-01 consists of two parts – a rectangular vacuum cleaner and a long handle for control. The vacuum cleaner is equipped with motor and other technical stuff for cleaning. Unlike most other robot vacuum cleaners, which have a circular shape, the new Xiaomi Yekee YE-01 is a square with rounded edges.
On the top panel we can see the bright red Yekee logo, as well as a large round button to turn on the vacuum cleaner. You just press the button with your foot to start or end the cleaning.
On the rear side is another button to open trash container. There are no protective bumpers or sensors on the side or front faces, as in robot vacuum cleaner, because they are not necessary. Xiaomi Yekee YE-01 has a handle, and the user controls the cleaning process.
Now let’s look at bottom panel. There are four small wheels, a central V-shaped brush, two side brushes and container for collecting dry debris. The side brushes have long brushes to collect trash in corners and hard to reach places.
Yekee YE-01 is movable and easy to tilt in different directions or up/down. The small size of the vacuum cleaner and the handle mobility allow it to drive under the bed, sofa, table and other furniture.
Xiaomi Yekee YE-01: Functions
As we wrote above, Xiaomi Yekee YE-01 has one central brush and two side brushes. The central brush has a V-shaped bristle that collects trash of various sizes. Long side brushes collect small debris in the corners and push it towards the central brush. The speed of the main brush is 1300 rpm per minute.
Also, the vacuum cleaner comes with 30 long wipes for dry cleaning. They are made of non-woven material that does not harm the environment. This material easily collects trash due to its bristly surface.
Before cleaning, simply stick one of the wipes to the bottom of Xiaomi Yekee YE-01. After completion of cleaning, it is enough to remove the wipe and throw it in the trash.
Given the size of Xiaomi Yekee YE-01, the trash container is large enough – 350 ml. It is sealed and intended only for dry cleaning. The function of wet cleaning is available.
Yekee YE-01 is equipped with 2000 mAh battery. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the vacuum cleaner. The single charge provides about 2 hours of cleaning. We think this is enough to clean even a large apartment.

Xiaomi Yekee YE-01 is a very interesting vacuum cleaner. It combines the functions of robot vacuum cleaner and a conventional mop. We liked the stylish design, compact size and simple control. Perhaps this is a new round in the market of vacuum cleaners.
