Production company Haribo gummies withdrew liquorice candy production depicting the face. According to The Local, some consumers of the German company in Sweden found the black jelly face racist.
After the Swedish branch Haribo received several complaints about abusive licorice treats, it was decided to remove them from production. In the company explained that licorice person had to represent the peoples of the world, “racist” candy produced in a set dedicated to travel to different corners of the planet.
Nevertheless, in Haribo said that to customers’ opinion must be heard, and therefore refused doubtful chocolates.
Haribo was founded in 1920 in Bonn. Company’s first product became jelly candies in the shape of little bears. By the 1960s, jelly bears have become one of the most famous delicacies, they acquired different tastes and colors. Bears currently produce various firms.
Earlier in Sweden visitor complained of a local restaurant menu institution where found “racist” dish: it was a “gypsy soup” . The woman called the police, and restaurant owners said that not going to hurt anyone called his soup.
