Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro REVIEW: A Big Surprise for Everyone!
The popular Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi releases a lot of new smartphones in 2018. We already reviewed Redmi 5 Plus and Redmi S2.
In this article we want to talk about Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro. It is almost the same Redmi S2, but with new design. Which is better of them? What budget phone should you buy in 2018? We’ll make full review of Redmi 6 Pro, and try to answer these questions.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro: Design
As for design, the new smartphone is not something new and original. From the back you can see an aluminum polished panel with two plastic inserts on top and bottom. The fingerprint reader is centered.
The camera is placed in the left upper corner. The flash is located between the camera sensors. So, Redmi 6 Pro is a kind of symbiosis of Xiaomi and Apple products.
On the upper edge of smartphone there is a headphone jack, a microphone for noise suppression and IR blaster.
You can find power button and volume rocker on the right side of mobile device.
On the left edge there is a slot for SIM card. Here is a big surprise for many people. This is triple slot for two SIM cards and microSD memory card. It means that yuo can see all of them simultaneously. It is a big advantage over other phones with hybrid slots.
At the bottom you can see a talking microphone, a speaker and microUSB port. If you are waiting for USB Type-C, then it is the first disappointment from Redmi 6 Pro.
The built-in speaker is pretty good. However, it does not differ from the previous budget phones in Redmi series.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro: Display
The main feature of Redmi 6 Pro is display, if to be precise, then a notch above the display. Some people like it, while another one hate. However, the fact is that the notch is very popular in 2018.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro has a diagonal of 5.84 inches and a resolution of 2280 by 1080 pixels. Of course, it is not bezel-less phone, beacuse you can see quite thick bezels, especially on bottom. However, the impressions are very good from this phone.
It is only IPS panel, not AMOLED, but don’t forget it is budget device. Thanks to Full HD+ resolution, Redmi 6 Pro has sharper image than Redmi S2 with HD+ resolution. It is a pleassure to watch movies and read text on new smartphone.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro: Performance
As for the hardware, we cannot say it has high performance. The main problem is Snapdragon 625 processor. It was released more than 2 years ago, however even today many Chinese brands use it, including Xiaomi.
From other side, the processor is still good for everyday tasks and games on low graphics settings. In addition, Qualcomm processor is much more powerful than entry-level MediaTek chipsets. So, we are not much upset with Snapdragon 625.
The graphics accelerator Adreno 506 shows pretty good results in 3D benchmarks. It says that you can run any Android games, but maybe you will need to change on low graphics settings.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro: Camera
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro smartphone has a dual main camera with Sony IMX486 sensor. It has 12 megapixels resolution. Also, there is secondary sensor with 5-megapixel resolution. Thanks to Sony sensor, the phone makes excellent photos. However, the difference compared to Redmi 5 Plus or Redmi S2 are still minimal. We think you will not see any difference between these phones in the same light conditions.
As for the video recording, Redmi 6 Pro received electronic image stabilization. It is a big improvement over Redmi 5 Plus. Redmi 6 Pro records video a little better than its predecessor.
The front camera has 8 megapixel sensor. It is almost the same as Redmi 5 Plus. From other side, Redmi S2 comes with 16MP selfie camera, so if the front camera is very imporant for you, then you should look closer to Redmi S2.
By the way, Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro has Face Unlock function. It uses front camera, and it works very well.

As for memory, everything here is quite simple. The user can choose from 3GB and 4GB of RAM, as well as 64GB and 32GB of internal memory. In addition, do not forget about microSD memory cards support. In other words, you will never have a problem with storage on Redmi 6 Pro.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro: Battery
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro has a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 4000mAh. This is enough for comfortable use of the phone for two days. If you are using the smartphone in non-stop mode, then it will work for about 12-14 hours. In any case, it is good for evarage user.
But Redmi 6 Pro also has a disadvantage. It doesn’t support fast charging. It means that full battery charge will take more than two hours. So it’s better to charge the smartphone when you are sleeping.
Conclusion
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is available on sale, and its price starts from $257 for 4GB/64GB version. There are other versions (3GB/32GB or 4GB/32GB), but we think that 4GB/64GB is the best one.
