All Xiaomi Smartphones We’re Waiting For in 2019
In 2018, Xiaomi has sold 100 million smartphones in 10 months. Total sales for 2018 are more than 120 million units, which is 30% more than in 2017. The Chinese brand has even more ambitious plans for 2019: the company plans to sell more than 150 million smartphones. Xiaomi wants to catch up with Apple, which is now the third world leading phone manufacturer. Maybe it will even surpass, taking the honorary bronze. There are several prerequisites for making plans:
– The popularity of Xiaomi worldwide is growing steadily. The smartphones have reasonable prices, high build quality and good software support;
– The closest competitors – Oppo, Vivo, Meizu and even Apple – have some difficulties, and most likely they will have a reduction in supply for 2019;
– Xiaomi will continue to conquer the European market in 2019. It has new sub-brand Pocophone, which helps to enter the US market;
– Xiaomi will split the smartphones into two sub-brands – Mi and Redmi in 2019.
As you can see, there are enough grounds, let’s see how it goes. It will be nice to see the favorite brand in the top three of the world rankings!
Xiaomi smartphones in 2019
We already know the release dates of some Xiaomi smartphones in 2019. Please do not be too angry for this article, if you read it when everything is known, and smartphones are released. Xiaomi Redmi 7 Pro First REVIEW
Xiaomi began to use Mediatek processors for its budget smartphones again. In 2019, we may have an unpleasant surprise in replacing all the processors of budget devices with MediaTek chipsets. So, instead of Snapdragon 429, we can get Helio A22, which has already used in Redmi 6A. Instead of Snapdragon 439 – Helio P22, which also took place in Redmi 6. Instead of Snapdragon 460, we can get a new Helio P35, already tested in Xiaomi Mi Play. According to another scenario, Redmi 7A and Redmi 7 will receive Snapdragon 632 chipset, while Redmi 7 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 636.
The presentation of the new Redmi 7 is expected before the end of January, so we will know its official specifications soon.

Flagship Xiaomi smartphones 2019
Xiaomi Mi 9 is the most interesting Xiaomi smartphone in 2019 in 2019. The smartphone should be released in February, at MWC 2019 exhibition. We already know a lot about upcoming smartphone. There are many leaks and rumors.
Xiaomi Mi 9: Specifications
- Processor: Snapdragon 855, the protagonist of the world’s flagships in 2019: 8 Kryo 485 cores in three clusters, made according to the latest 7nm process technology. It will have 368.000 points in AnTuTu benchmark.
- RAM: 6GB or 8GB, like Xiaomi Mi 8 in 2018.
- Built-in memory: 128GB or 256GB. This is an important change: Xiaomi will not release 64GB version, but will add 256GB model.
- Display: Super AMOLED 6.4-inches with Full HD+ resolution, 1080×2280 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. It has 88.23% of screen to body ratio.
- Main camera: triple, 48MP + 12MP + 8MP. The main sensor is Sony IMX586, the second is S5K3M3, while the third – ToF 3D Stereo sensor for depth effect. Aperture f/1.8, optical stabilization, high-speed shooting up to 960fps and optical zoom.
- Front camera: 24MP, Sony IMX576 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 0.9 µm pixel. Some sources say about 20MP IMX376 sensor, but this is unlikely, because it was previously used only in budget phones like Mi6X and Black Shark.
- Battery: 3500mAh. It is good battery capacity, because of energy-efficient processor with 7nm process technology and AMOLED screen.
Xiaomi Mi 9 will be released in February, at MWC 2019 exhibition. The expected price tag will be from $440 to $470 for the younger version 6GB+128GB. Xiaomi loves round price tags, so it’s logical to see something like 2999 yuan, which is just $439.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro: Specifications
The older version of the flagship may receive different name. Moreover, it will not necessarily be presented. Most likely, it will just quietly appear on sale and offer a couple of new features, such as new case material and memory. We expect these changes:
- RAM: 8GB or 10GB
- Built-in memory: 128GB, 256GB or 512GB
- Battery: 4000mAh
- Case with a transparent back cover, like Mi 8 Explorer Edition
- The release can be expected in the spring, perhaps in April 2019. The price will rise to $600.
That’s all smartphones from Xiaomi we are waiting for in 2019. There are leaks about foldable smartphones or devices with two screen, but it is too early to predict them.
