Appotronics S2 First REVIEW: Compact Laser Projector 2019
Appotronics is one of the largest manufacturers of laser projectors in China. Recently, the Chinese company introduced two new high-tech laser projectors called Appotronics S2 and Appotronics A1.
In this article we want to talk about a more powerful projector of the two presented – Appotronics S2. This is a laser projector with 4K video playback support, brightness of 700 lumens, projection distance from 0.5 to 5 meters, aluminum body and a very compact size.

Appotronics S2: Design
Appotronics S2 looks very simple, but attractive. The projector design is suitable for both home and office.
The projector has the rectangle shape with rounded edges. The device is available only in matte “antique” white color with a black front and back panel. The body is made of aluminum, which makes it resistant to scratches and other damage.
Due to its compact size, Appotronics S2 projector is very convenient to carry. Its dimensions are only 21 x 12.6 x 2.4 cm and weight – 780 grams. The projector is comfortable to carry in hands, because it has rounded corners and is slightly larger than a regular book.
On the top panel we can see Appotronics round glossy logo.
The front panel contains a lens for projecting an image, a movable shutter to protect the lens from scratches, and a cooling grid. By the way, you can use the shutter not only to protect the lens, but also as a leg to lift the projector.
Side panels are fully occupied by ventilation holes. On the back side are all connectors and ports, such as USB 2.0, USB 3.0, DC, HDMI, Reset, USB Type C and 3.5 audio jack. This is enough to connect any additional devices.
On the bottom panel there are small round rubber feet so the projector does not slide on the surface.
Appotronics S2 comes in a blue cardboard box. The projector is packed nicely and securely. Together with projector, you will get a remote control, a power cable and a user manual in English.
Appotronics S2: Remote Control
The remote control has the same color as projector. It is also very compact, and has rounded edges. It is comfortable to hold in the hand. All buttons on the remote rubber and made in black.
The remote control is powered by two AA batteries, but you need to buy them additionally.
Appotronics S2: Specifications
The projector is powered by Amlogic ARM Cortex A9 quad-core processor. It provides stable and fast performance. Mali 450 is used as graphics chip. Also, the projector is equipped with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory eMMC.
The brightness of Appotronics S2 is 700 lumens, while the contrast ratio is 2000:1.
You can adjust the projection distance from 0.5 to 5 meters. It means that you can use Appotronics S2 in small rooms as well as in a huge office or conference room.
Image size can be from 15 to 150-inches.
The projector uses innovative technology for good brightness and image clarity. Technology combines LED lamps and laser elements to make the projected image rich, clear and contrast.
Lamp life is 20000 hours. If you use the projector every day for 5 hours, the lamp will last more than 10 years.
The projector’s native resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels, but it supports video playback in Full HD and 4K resolution. The image scale is 16:9 or 4:3.
The device runs on Android 4.4 operating system. Using Bluetooth 4.0 connection, the user can synchronize the smartphone with Appotronics S2 projector. You just need to install a special application on your smartphone. Also, the app allows to use smartphone as a remote control.
The projector supports Wi-Fi 802.11 ac.
Appotronics S2: Price
The manufacturer really did a good job with its Appotronics S2. A projector of small size received a nice design, a quad-core processor, 3D, Full HD and 4K support, a projection distance of 0.5 to 5 meters and a brightness of 700 lumens.
The projector is great for home theater as well as for presentations in office or educational institutions.
