BMAX series of mini PCs: B1, B2 Plus, B3 Plus and B4 Pro
A couple of days ago, BMAX introduced its new mini PC called BMAX B4 Pro. As you might guess from the name, this is the fourth generation of a mini computer of the Chinese brand.
The new mini PC has one significant difference compared to previous versions of mini PC – BMAX B4 Pro runs on a powerful Intel Core i3-8145U processor with low power consumption.
In this article, we will talk about all BMAX mini PCs, such as BMAX B1, BMAX B2 Plus, BMAX B3 Plus and BMAX B4 Pro. How do they differ, and which mini PC is better to buy? Let’s find out.
BMAX B1
All BMAX mini PCs have been released relatively recently. In principle, BMAX brand itself is very young.
The first mini PC – BMAX B1 – was introduced at the end of October 2019.
BMAX B1 is a compact mini PC weighing just 240 grams. The size is 12.0 x 12.0 x 3.2 cm. I think that you can easily find a place on your desktop or even behind a TV or monitor for this compact mini PC.
The case of the mini PC is made of matte black plastic.
On the top panel we can see a large logo and company name BMAX. On the side and rear panels, there are connectors and ports.
Most interfaces are located on the rear panel, such as Ethernet port, HDMI, USB 3.0, Power IN, 3.5 mm audio jack and round power button.
On the right and left sides are VGA port and two USB 3.0 connectors. Also, the side faces have openings for cooling.
As for performance, BMAX B1 is powered by Intel Celeron N3060 processor. This is a pretty old dual-core processor, which was released in mid-2015.
Nevertheless, the processor has high energy efficiency. It also operates at a frequency from 1.6 GHz to 2.48 GHz.
BMAX B1 is equipped with Intel HD Graphics 400 GPU, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal eMMC memory.
The mini PC supports Windows 10 operating system, as well as Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 2.4G / 5G wireless networks.
BMAX B1 is the most budget mini PC from the new BMAX series. The price of this model is only $119.

Bmax B2 Plus
The next mini PC is BMAX B2 Plus. It is also a compact mini PC with dimensions of 12.50 x 11.20 x 4.40 cm and weight of 310 grams.
However, the design of BMAX B2 Plus differs from the previous BMAX B1 model. The second version of the mini PC has a metal case with black and gray panels. On the top panel, as usual, there is the logo and brand name of BMAX.
Unlike the first model, BMAX B2 Plus has ports and connectors on the front and rear panels. On the front panel of mini PC you can find 3.5 mm audio jack, USB Type-C and two USB 3.0 ports. There is also a round power button.
On the rear panel there are two HDMI ports, two USB 2.0, Ethernet and RJ45.
One of the main features of the mini PC is built-in stereo speakers. The speaker holes are on the side faces, next to the cooling holes.
BMAX B2 Plus has a more powerful Intel Celeron J4115 processor with a clock frequency of 1.8 GHz to 2.5 GHz. It is a quad-core processor.
The amount of memory has also increased compared to the first mini PC. BMAX B2 Plus is equipped with 8 GB of RAM LPDDR4 and 128 GB of internal memory. The graphics processor is Intel HD Graphics 400.
The pre-installed operating system is Windows 10. There is also support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.
I think that performance of BMAX B2 Plus is enough for not only office apps and family watching movies, but even for launching casual games.
As for the price, BMAX B2 Plus is more expensive than BMAX B1. You can buy BMAX B2 Plus for $199.
As you know, the price should have increased, because B2 Plus received better processor, more RAM and internal memory, as well as built-in stereo speakers.

BMAX B3 Plus
The third mini PC is called BMAX B3 Plus. The design of the computer is practically no different from BMAX B2 Plus.
BMAX B3 Plus is made in the same dark gray color, and it also has a metal case.
Compared with the first two mini PCs, the dimensions of BMAX B3 Plus have increased – 16.7 x 15.5 x 11.8 cm. Nevertheless, the mini PC is still compact and convenient to use.
On the side and front panels, everything remained unchanged. The mini PC has stereo speakers, cooling holes and USB Type-C ports, two USB 3.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack.
However, there are little changes on the rear panel. Here we have two USB 2.0 connectors, MINI DP, HDMI 2.0, RJ45 and Ethernet. Yes, the only difference is replacing one HDMI port with MINI DP.
BMAX B3 Plus is powered by Intel Pentium Gold 5405U processor. It has two cores with a clock frequency of up to 2.3 GHz.
This is a fairly new processor, which was introduced in January 2019. Pentium Gold 5405U is often used in primary and middle class laptops.
The mini PC is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory.
As you can see, the performance and amount of memory increased again compared to the previous model – BMAX B2 Plus.
As for GPU, the mini PC uses Intel 9th Gen UHD Graphics 610.
By increasing the performance, the price of a mini PC has risen. You can buy BMAX B3 Plus for $349.

BMAX B4 Pro
Finally, we have reached the most powerful mini PC in BMAX series. We will not dwell in design of BMAX B4 Pro, because the mini PC looks exactly like BMAX B3 Plus.
As for technical specifications, BMAX B4 Pro received several changes, but they cannot be called insignificant.
As we wrote earlier, the new mini PC has a powerful Intel Core i3-8145U processor. This is a dual-core processor with a clock frequency of 2.1 GHz to 3.9 GHz.
The processor has higher performance and energy efficiency compared to the processors that were used in previous models of mini PCs.
Also, the mini PC is equipped with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and 256 GB of internal memory NVMe SSD. It has Intel HD Graphics 620.
Windows 10, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi are still available.
We are sure that the performance of this mini PC is enough to watch high-resolution video, as well as launch heavy games.
BMAX B4 Pro is the most powerful mini PC in BMAX series, so it is also the most expensive mini PC from BMAX.
The price of BMAX B4 Pro is $499, which is $300 more expensive than BMAX B1.

BMAX Company decided to attract the attention of different consumers with different tasks and budgets.
If you need an inexpensive mini PC for everyday tasks and watching movies, then choose BMAX B2 Plus or BMAX B1.
