Homtom H10: Design
HOMTOM H10 has a large 5.85-inch display. As we already said, there is a notch above the display with front camera, proximity sensor and earpiece.
Just like Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, new phone from Homtom has a compact size – 152 x 74 x 7.8 mm. The back panel of the smartphone has a glossy reflective surface. It changes the shade, depending on the lighting. Right now we cannot say is the rear panel made of glass or plastic. It will be known later.
Another feature is the position of fingerprint scanner. It is integrated into the frame on the right side.
It is really good position, and perhaps more comfortable than back panel. In addition to the fingerprint reader, there is also a face unlock function. It unlocks the smartphone with scanning user’s face through the front camera.
USB-Type C port is located on bottom of the phone. It is good for budget phone, however we cannot say that it is very impressive feature.
Homtom H10: Display
The display has a resolution of 1512 x 720 pixels and pixel density of 286ppi. This is enough for 5.85 inch display. The image is sharp and bright. IPS panel provides natural colors and very good viewing angles.
Homtom H10: Performance
The smartphone is powered by the well-known processor MediaTek MT6750T. For its price range, this processor is very good, but, unfortunately, not the newest. MT6750T provides enough power for everyday tasks. You can download popular Android apps, such as WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube.
In addition, Homtom H10 has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. As the operating system, there is Android 8.1 Oreo. It’s a pity, but Homtom is not famous for its regular software updates. Perhaps, you will receive some OTA updates in coming months, but it will not run on Android 9.
Homtom H10 supports dual SIM cards. It uses hybrid slot, so you can use two nano-SIM cards, or a SIM card, and a micro-SD card for memory expansion.
The phone comes with all major network frequencies of 3G and 4G bands. In addition, gyroscope and electronic compass are available – both are not required for the entry-level phone. In addition, Homtom H10 supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Homtom H10: Camera
On the back panel of Homtom H10, there are two camera sensors. However, if you are looking for real dual camera, we should disappoint you. Although the manufacturer advertises real bokeh effect and portrait mode, most likely the second sensor will be fake. We already tested some entry-level Chinese phones, and many of them have fake second sensor.
From other side, the main 16-megapixel camera will be able to make good images, because it uses a sensor from Samsung. The front panel has 8 megapixel camera from Omnivision.
Homtom H10: Battery
The battery of Homtom H10 has a capacity of 3500 mAh. It is not good or bad, just average. The smartphone hasn’t gone on sale yet, so we cannot talk about battery life. It will depend on software optimization. However, we expect about 1-2 days of battery life on a single charge.
New smartphone doesn’t support fast charging, there is only 5V/2A. It means that full battery charge will take about 2.5 hours.
Homtom H10: Price
Homtom H10 has modern design with a notch above the display and fingerprint reader on side. As for other specs, it is another entry-level smartphone of 2018. We are not sure that you should pay $170 for this phone. Its price should be about $100.
