Huawei Nova 2i First Review: Full Screen, 4 cameras and Attractive Price

Huawei announced its new smartphone called Huawei Nova 2i. We had some questions to Nova 2, because it was worse than first generation smartphone. The Chinese manufacturer did not correct the old mistakes (hardware is still worse than 2016 model had), but now the screen is bezel-less, and the price is about $320.

Huawei Nova 2i: Performance

We would not worry about performance Huawei Nova 2i, because it is powered by Kirin 659. Yes, it is worse than Snapdragon 625 used in Nova and Nova Plus. The graphics Mali-T830 are inferior to Adreno 506, but buying any of these smartphones for games is not very smart solution. Snapdragon 625 also doesn’t run heavy games with maximum graphics, but Kirin 659 does a good job at low graphics settings. If you want to play latest games, then you should buy Xiaomi phones on top processors for the same money.

It’s really sad that the smartphone doesn’t have NFC. Huawei, 2017 is coming to an end, but are you seriously releasing phones without Android Pay?

Huawei Nova 2i: Camera

However, the main feature of smartphone is four cameras. The main camera sensor has resolution of 16 megapixels with a secondary sensor 2 megapixels. The front camera also comes with two camera setup: 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel. It would be great to give users the option to exchange one of the cameras on NFC.

Huawei Nova 2i: Display

There is 5.9-inch display that occupies 83% of the front panel. For comparison, Samsung Galaxy S8 has the same display ratio.

Huawei Nova 2i display has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, so it has great pixel density. Although for $320 it would be strange to see something different.
