HUIMI HMD 0311 First REVIEW: Little Known, But Good Projector 2019

In the beginning of 2019, the Chinese company HUIMI released new projector for home theater. It was called HUIMI HMD 0311. This is the third HUIMI projector, but the first one is from mid-range category. Earlier the manufacturer released only budget projectors up to $100.

HUIMI HMD 0311 projects an image at a distance from 1 to 8 meters and with image brightness up to 200 ANSI lumens. Also, the projector has a quiet noise level and built-in speakers.

HUIMI HMD 0311: Design

As for the design, HMD 0311 is really different from most projectors. It has a round shape, not a square or rectangle, as usual. The case of HMD 0311 is made of aluminum alloy and ABS plastic. Materials are quite reliable, so the projector is scratch and damage resistant.

The device is available only in silver color. The projector has a small size – 17.40 x 17.40 x 4.20 cm, and the weight is only 0.87 kg. We think you can easily find a place in your room for this projector. In addition, it is very easy to carry around.

Now let’s take a closer look at HUIMI HMD 0311. On the top panel we see a large square button. It is designed to turn on the projector. On the front panel there is a lens that slightly goes beyond the round shape of the projector. To the right of the lens is a wheel for focus adjusting.

There are built-in speakers on the front and side edges.

The rear panel contains connectors and ports for connection: 3.5-mm audio jack, AV, HDMI, USB 3.0, VGA and a slot for TF-memory card. You can use a memory card up to 32 GB.

On the bottom there is the cooling grid, the holes for mounting a tripod and the four rubber feet that prevent the projector from slipping or scratching the surface.

HUIMI HMD 0311 projector comes with a power adapter, remote control, USB cable and user manual in English.

The remote control is made in black color. It has minimum control buttons, so it is quite simple to use.

HUIMI HMD 0311: Functions

This is DLP projector with  supports a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. However, it plays video in 4K and 1080P resolution at 60 frames per second.

The manufacturer used an LED lamp with a power of 16-20W for the new projector HUIMI HMD 0311. The lamp life is more than 30.000 hours. If you use the projector every day for 8 hours, then it will work for about 10 years.

HUIMI HMD 0311 is able to project an image from 40 to 300-inches. The image scale is 16:9 or 4:3. The picture has a contrast ratio of 2000:1, and the brightness of 220 ANSI lumens.

Please note that you need to place the projector at a distance of 1 to 8 meters from the wall. It means that you can use the projector in a small bedroom or office, or in a large living room or conference room. Fortunately, the size and weight of the projector makes it easy to transport.

Built-in speakers provide deep and pleasant sound.

HMD 0311 projector runs on Android 6.0.1 operating system. As for the memory, the device has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. As we wrote earlier, you can expand the internal memory using a TF memory card.

The new projector supports wireless connections Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz.

Another nice feature is very low noise level. In complete silence, the noise level from the projector is only 36 dB.

The projector is equipped with 12000mAh built-in lithium-ion battery. Thanks to different connectors and ports, you can connect a smartphone, laptop, tablet, TV, game console and other devices to projector.

The first review of HUIMI HMD 0311 showed that this is very good mid-range projector with compact dimensions, nice design and good performance. HMD 0311 is perfect for both home theater and office use.
