KZ S1 and KZ S1D First REVIEW and Comparison of TWS Earbuds
Today we will talk about new wireless earbuds KZ S1 and KZ S1D. KZ earphones are famous for their unusual design and high-quality sound. The new KZ S1 and KZ S1D earbuds are no exception.
In fact, KZ S1 and KZ S1D have almost the same specifications. These are wireless earbuds with charging case, support for Hi-Fi sound, Bluetooth 5.0, built-in microphone, touch control and 12 hours of battery life.

KZ S1 and KZ S1D Have The Same Design
KZ S1 and KZ S1D have in-ear design like most other wireless earbuds. However, as we already said, they have a unique and unusual design.
By the way, both models of wireless earbuds have the same design. The only difference in design is color: KZ S1 comes in gray and dark green, while KZ S1D is available in white and black.
Replaceable ear tips are transparent, regardless of the color of earbuds.
The earphones and charging case is made of ABS plastic.
KZ S1 and KZ S1D are truly compact earbuds. The weight of the charging case is only 50 grams, while one earbud weighs about 4 grams. They are very light and almost not felt out of the ears.
The entire front side of earbud is a touch control panel. As we said earlier, the recognizable KZ logo is located on touch button.
On the inside of the earbud are magnetic contacts for charging, a built-in microphone and an LED indicator.
The charging case is also compact. It is very convenient to carry the case in a hand, or in jeans pocket. It has an oval shape.
On the back of the charging case is a USB port for charging.
Earbuds are securely attached inside the charging case. We can also see a small LED indicator and round button inside the charging case.
The button is used to check the battery level. Depending on the battery level, the indicator light is highlighted in red, yellow or green.
What’s The Difference Between KZ S1 vs KZ S1D?
Now let’s move on to the technical specifications of the new earbuds. First, we want to tell you about differences between the two models of wireless earbuds, and then let’s talk about the general specs.
KZ S1 and KZ S1D have only one difference in technical part. KZ S1 are more powerful because of the built-in high-frequency balanced unit and lightweight REK membrane. The high-frequency unit makes the sound richer, while musical instruments sound more natural and clear.
The small, thin REK membrane releases full mid and low frequencies.
KZ S1D are equipped with only a thin membrane REK without built-in high-frequency balanced unit.
As you understand, KZ S1 earbud offer a more powerful, rich and clear sound than KZ S1D. However, we are not sure if the average user will notice a significant difference.
Otherwise, KZ S1 and KZ S1D wireless earbuds have exactly the same specifications.
KZ S1 and KZ S1D Have Almost The Same Features
The new KZ earbuds support Hi-Fi sound and advanced AAC audio. Headphones provide a stable and fast connection, clear and high-quality sound no matter what genre of music you prefer.
The impedance is 24 ohms, while the sensitivity is 111 dB/mW.
New TWS earbuds are equipped with a special Games mode. KZ S1 and KZ S1D are suitable not only for listening to music, but also for games.
Let me remind you that KZ S1 and KZ S1D are TWS wireless earbuds. It means that you can use a single earbud and two of them at the same time.
If necessary, the earbuds can be used as a Bluetooth headset, for example, when you are driving in a car.
KZ S1 and S1D support Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connection. The maximum distance for data transfer is 20 meters.
What Control Options Are Available?
A touch panel is available to control the music. To turn on or stop the music, you need to press the touch panel on any of the earbuds once.
Double-press on the right earphone switches to the next song, and on the left – the previous song.
A long press for 2 seconds activates the voice assistant on smartphone.
During a call to a smartphone, you can accept a call with a short press on any of the eabuds, and also reject it with a long press.
How Long KZ S1 and KZ S1D Last?
KZ S1 and KZ S1D have the same battery capacity and battery life.
The charging case is equipped with 300 mAh battery. Each earphone has a built-in 40 mAh battery.
The earbuds lasts for 3 hours listening to music on a single charge. You can charge the earphones 4 times from the charging case.
Thus, the battery life of headphones with a charging case is 12 hours.
It takes about 1 hour to fully charge the wireless earbuds in the charging case.
What Is The Price of KZ S1 and KZ S1D?
As our first review and comparison showed, KZ S1 and KZ S1D TWS earbuds have only three differences: body color, sound quality, and price.
