In Latvia on Saturday purchased Parliament: 16:00 local time (17:00 MSK.) In elections to the Sejm voted 41.24% of voters – more than 640.1 thousand people, including the data of early voting. It is reported by the Central Election Commission of the country.

Significant incidents related to elections are not registered. In some areas, there are still a queue of those wishing to vote. Security Police of Latvia received from different regions of the country several signals of a possible vote-buying, which offers a different voice for their material rewards, including money, reports “Interfax” . This information is verified.

100 seats in the legislature are fighting 13 political parties and organizations of the republic. They represent a total of 1,156 candidates.

Riga Mayor and head of the party-favorite “Consent” Neil Ushkov believes that extending Latvian parliamentary elections provide an opportunity for the integration of the Russian-speaking population in Latvian society. Itar-Tass Ushakov said in a published interview on Saturday Financial Times .

“When we see what is happening in Ukraine, when we see how the Ukraine poor management led to bloodshed, we fall a unique chance to change something here: to integrate Russian-speaking, to make them an integral part of the Latvian society, part of the EU and NATO,” – Ushakov told the British newspaper.

According to opinion polls, “Consent”, enjoys the support of the Russian-speaking population of Latvia, leader among parties participating in elections, but the party will not be able to form a government on their own. In elections in 2011, “Consent” received the most votes, but was not included in the government coalition, as other parties have refused to cooperate with her.
