Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition First REVIEW: It Is The Same Roborock T7!
Just a few hours ago, a new robot vacuum cleaner called Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition was introduced. I am writing this first review, which will tell you about the main features, specifications, as well as the price and where to buy a new robot vacuum cleaner.
By the way, I did not believe at first that this is a new robot vacuum cleaner, because last month I wrote about Roborock T7. However, the new robot vacuum cleaner comes in black color, while the previous version was available only in white.
After quick comparison of specifications of Roborock T7 and Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition, I found no differences. Both robot vacuum cleaners have the same suction power – 2500Pa, the same battery capacity – 5200mAh, and even the same volume of water tank – 297 ml.

Design
As you can see, the new Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition vacuum cleaner has the same design as Roborock T7, including the size, button layout, side brush, center brush, wheels and water tank.
The new robot vacuum cleaner has two built-in cameras on the front panel to avoid collisions with furniture or other objects in the room. By the way, similar system is used in drones and cars with autopilot.
The cameras also recognize objects in the room, and display them on the map in the application. We will talk about that a little later.
Strangely enough, I didn’t find any information about the volume of dust box. The manufacturer reported that the water tank has the volume of 297 ml, but forgot to say about the dust box.
I dare to assume that it is 460 ml, because the previous robot vacuum cleaner Roborock T7 had exactly the same size dust box.
By the way, I want to draw your attention to the new wet cleaning system. Now the water tank is located at the back of the vacuum cleaner, and you can remove it without turning the robot vacuum cleaner over or opening the top lid. This is really handy.
As usual, a microfibre cloth for wet cleaning is attached to the bottom of the water tank.
To be honest, I didn’t find any differences in appearance between Roborock T7 and Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition except for the black body color. Perhaps the vacuum cleaners have different functions? Let’s have a look.
Suction power
I want to start with the suction power, because that’s one of the main specifications of any robot vacuum cleaner. Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition has a suction power of 2500Pa. Again, no change from the previous Roborock T7 robot vacuum cleaner.
As I said before, the new robot vacuum cleaner has two built-in cameras that scan the room and recognize objects in it. The new vacuum cleaner also uses laser navigation and RR Mason 7.0 algorithm to build the most efficient cleaning route.
Battery Life and Capacity
Talking about battery, its capacity is 5200mAh, and this is enough to clean 250 square meters or 2.5 hours cleaning time.
If you want to wash the floors with Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition, then the vacuum cleaner can do it for 120 minutes before the battery runs out completely.
Roborock App
The most interesting features are in the app on smartphone. Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition has its own application called Roborock app, which allows you to save maps, set the prohibited areas, areas only for vacuuming and only for wet cleaning, schedule cleaning and much more.
It is also worth noting the built-in speaker and microphone for voice control. Interestingly, the robot vacuum cleaner receives updates through the air via OTA, as any Android smartphone.
What Is The Price of Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition?
The price of the new robot vacuum cleaner Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition is 3299 yuan in China, or about $460. So far the new vacuum cleaner is only available in China, but I think it will soon be available at Aliexpress or other Chinese online stores such as GearBest and Banggood.
Returning to the comparison, I found no difference between Roborock T7 and the Roborock T7 Pro Discovery Edition, except that the first vacuum cleaner comes in white, while the second in black.

Another interesting point is that Roborock T7 is much cheaper than T7 Pro Discovery Edition. The difference is more than $100. Roborock T7 is sold in China for $350. I don’t understand why that is. If you know, write in the comments below.
