Samsung Exynos 8890: mass production of the chipset will begin in December
In the first quarter of next year, Samsung plans to launch flagship smartphone Galaxy S7, one of the modifications which will be based on the company’s chipset Exynos 8890. And the latest rumors indicate that mass production of the hardware platform will begin in late December 2015.
Mass production of the chipset Exynos 8890 will be adjusted at the factory Samsung’s Gyeonggi Province.
The source specified that Exynos 8890 based on custom ARM-cores, rather than on a standard architecture ARM. This will allow the company to gain a competitive advantage over products of Qualcomm and Apple’s plan to optimize and reduce costs.
As is known, Samsung Exynos 8890 clocked at 2.3 GHz. And his performance now exceeds the capabilities of the hardware platform while Apple A9 multi-threading. And we expect that commercial samples of the chipset will be able to show even greater performance.
The Samsung is still refusing to comment on its plans regarding production Exynos 8890. Although, given the upcoming deadlines announcement Samsung Galaxy S7, today voiced date seems quite plausible.
