Segway Drift W1: Design
The company uses the same technology of gyroscopic stabilization, which was previously used in the first Segway Human Transporter. However, this time the wheel has a very small diameter. In fact, the gadget consists of two black-and-white platforms with a built-in wheel in each of them. Two platforms are divided, which allows you to make jumps, rotations and other tricks.
As for the size, each platform has a length of 29 cm, a height of 16 cm and a width of 12 cm. They are slightly bigger than the average men’s shoes.
Segway Drift W1: Experience of use
How to use Segway Drift W1? It is quite simple: you need to put each leg on a stabilized wheel that can be moved forward or backward. To start, simply tilt the body forward. The platform is covered with a material that prevents the shoes from slipping.
In fact, Segway Drift W1 is a regular electric balance wheel with separate platforms on wheels. They are equipped with a self-balancing system, as well as a backlight for driving in the dark.

The body of electric rollers is protected from water according to IP54 standard. The maximum load is 100 kg.
Segway Drift W1: Price and release date
In the US, the brand opened pre-orders from July 24. Now for a couple of Drift W1 you will need to pay 399 US dollars. The delivery is only available in the United States, with an estimated availability date in mid-August.
In Europe, Segway will first show these electronic roller shoes on IFA 2018 (from August 31 to September 5 in Berlin), where a press conference will be held.
