VW drew a new version of the compact crossover

The Volkswagen Group is getting closer to the moment of his appearance in the model range is really a compact crossover. The prototype model, which will be located on the step below VW Tiguan, will debut in Geneva under the name T-ROC, and its production version will be ready, according to rumors, 2016.

Concept VW T-ROC was only three doors and four seats. At the same in size it is much smaller than the Tiguan – with a length of 4179 mm, it is shorter than the serial crossover about 200 mm. However, T-ROC somewhat larger represented not so long ago the concept Taigun, which is also considered a prototype serial compact crossover from VW. In addition, the creators of the concept note its short overhangs and an impressive wheelbase.

Concept is built on a modular platform MQB and weighs 1420 kg. Under its hood is located 185-horsepower diesel engine, designed for VW Golf GTD, but in the case of the concept it is unitized with upgraded 7-speed DSG and all-wheel drive. Acceleration to 100 km / h concept spends on settlements producer, 6.9 seconds, while consuming 4.9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

Transmission VW T-ROC received three modes – urban terrain and snow, and when any of them change the settings as a transmission and all-wheel drive system and an assisting electronics, including ABS and assistants during the descent and ascent. Nuances of the transmission are displayed on the instrument panel, which performs the role of 12.3-inch display. The monitor function on the center console are assigned to a tablet computer with which you can manage, for example, home entertainment system and air conditioner. Also in the avionics suite includes LED optics, cameras front and rear and removable roof panel.
