XGIMI Z6 REVIEW: Too Many Features In This Small Projector!

XGIMI Z6: Unboxing

XGIMI Z6 comes in a small (compared to other projectors) square box of white color. On the top panel of the box we can see the model number Z6. On the bottom panel there is brief specification list of projector.

Inside the box you can find XGIMI Z6 projector, and other items in the small three black boxes. The package includes: remote control, power supply and charging cable. To be honest, it is not surprising. Even the same XGIMI CC Aurora has 3D glasses and tripod in the package.

XGIMI Z6: Design

The design of new projector is very simple and cute. It doesn’t have any unnecessary details. XGIMI Z6 is made of white plastic with a matte surface.

On the top panel there is the company logo and touch buttons for volume control, pause and start.

Among available ports and connectors are USB 2.0, HDMI, DC and 3.5 mm audio jack. All of them are located on the rear panel, next to the power button and coolling grille. It is very good that all ports are in one place.

On the front panel there is a lens and a perforated grill, under which the speakers. One of main advantages of this projector is that the lens is protected by glass. It protects the lens and solves the problem of contaminants.

On the bottom there are four legs, thanks to which the projector does not slip on the surface.

The design of remote control is very similar to the previous models. It is white with black buttons. The remote control connects to the projector via Bluetooth. It provides all necessary buttons for comfortable control of the projector. It is powered by two batteries.

The projector has a weight of almost 8 kg and quite compact size of 19.30 x 19.30 x 4.80 cm.

XGIMI Z6: Specifications

XGIMI Z6 is powered by quad-core processor Mstar 6A838 Cortex-A53B with a graphics accelerator Mali-T820 MP4. The device has 2GB of DDR3 memory and 8GB of internal memory eMMC. The projection distance is 2-3 meters. The hardware decoding HDR 10 provides a great contrast between bright and dark details on the screen.

XGIMI Z6 uses DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology. The projector has a resolution of Full HD, 1920×1080 pixels, while the brightness is 700 ANSI lumens.

The projector runs on its own user interface GMUI 3.0, based on Android 6.0 with pre-installed apps for watching online TV. You can also install your own apps and subscribe to other services. This will allow you to enjoy high-quality movies and TV shows. The huge screen of 3 meters provides an excellent experience.

When you turn on the projector for the first time, it displays a clear image, thanks to autofocus. It saves the user from a tedious autofocusing proces. To make the video quality better and more enjoyable, XGIMI Z6 also has built-in “smart” motion compensation. This function can optimize fast moving images and make dynamic scenes smoother.

You can use the built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) to connect to Internel. Also there is Bluetooth 4.0.

Another very pleasant feature is vertical correction of trapezoidal distortion (40°) and lateral projection. It means that if you put the projector in a convenient place for you, but with a slight angle, then it will be able to project a picture with right angles. It is very confortable.
