Only a week has passed since the official release of Xiaomi Mi Band 5, but there are already rumors about two new versions of the fitness bracelet. The latest leak reports that the new fitness trackers will be called Mi Band 5 Pro and Mi Band 5 Lite.
Let’s talk about the new fitness trackers, and what features they will have.
Where Did Info About Mi Band 5 Pro and Mi Band 5 Lite Come From?
Interestingly, information about two new versions of the fitness tracker appeared in the official Mi Fit application.
GekDoing user studied the software code of Mi Fit and Mi Wear applications and found the code names of the upcoming devices: Kongming, Kongming L, Kongming Pro and Kongming Lite.
We know for sure that Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is codenamed Kingming. As for the other three versions, Kongming L is Mi Band 5 with NFC support, while Kongming Pro and Kongming Lite are Mi Band 5 Pro and Mi Band 5 Lite, respectively.
What Are The New Features in Mi Band 5 Pro and Mi Band 5 Lite?
At the moment we know nothing about the new features of the upcoming two fitness bracelets. I think Xiaomi decided to release Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Lite to compete with other Chinese manufacturers such as Oppo or Realme. Most likely, the Lite version will be the cheapest one in the new series of fitness trackers.
Probably Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Lite will have a charge like the previous Mi Band 4 fitness bracelets and older ones. This version will also lose the function of blood pressure measurement.
When it comes to Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Pro, as you understand from the name, it will be an improved version of Mi Band 5. This fitness bracelet can get a bezel-less display.
In short, the news of the upcoming Xiaomi fitness bracelets caught us by surprise. At the moment we know for sure that Mi Band 5 Pro and Mi Band 5 Lite will be released, but when, as well as their price and what changes they will receive – we will know later. We’ll keep you posted on the news.
