Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro First REVIEW: It Has A New 2-in-1 Water Tank!
In this article we’ll talk about the new robot vacuum cleaner from Xiaomi, which is called Viomi V2 Pro. Interestingly, the previous version of this vacuum cleaner – Viomi V2 – was introduced just a couple of months ago. Less than half a year later, the Chinese manufacturer started a presale of the improved version of robot vacuum cleaner Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro.
Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro has a minimalist design, dry and wet cleaning function, suction power of 2100 Pa, LDS and SLAM sensors and up to 130 minutes of cleaning time. Also, the new robot vacuum cleaner has many other useful functions, such as creating a map of the room, cleaning by zone, etc.

Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro: Design
Viomi V2 Pro is similar to most other robotic vacuum cleaners. It has the same round shape and a small turret on the top panel.
The only noticeable difference is color. Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro is made in dark gray and matte color. The body is made of ABS plastic, which is also quite a common material among robot vacuum cleaners and other devices.
As we wrote above, there is a small tower on the top of vacuum cleaner. There is an LDS sensor inside the tower. We will talk about its functions later.
Viomi logo is located in the center of top panel. A little below we can see the only physical button that is divided into two parts. It performs “Power On/Off” and “Home” functions.
Almost the entire top panel is occupied by the lid. Underneath it is a dust container, a water tank and a small brush to clean the central vacuum cleaner brush.
The side edges are equipped with various sensors, such as proximity sensors and bumpers. They prevent the robot from hitting walls and furniture.
On the bottom panel there are two side wheels and one central wheel. There is also a long brush to collect and suck in dust and fine debris. The side brush with long tassels removes debris from hard-to-reach areas.
By the way, the central brush is made of a combination of a thermoplastic elastomer and a strong nylon material.
A small platform with a wet cleaning cloth is attached to the bottom panel. Several clothes are supplied with the robot vacuum cleaner.
As for the size, Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro is no larger than other robot vacuum cleaners. Its dimensions are 35 x 35 x 9.45 cm and a weight of 3.6 kg. You don’t need much space to store and transport this compact device.
Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro: Specifications
Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro has good suction power of 2100 Pa. This is enough to collect not only dust, but also rice grains, beans and even metal balls.
The vacuum cleaner supports three cleaning modes: dry cleaning, wet cleaning and mixed cleaning. In mixed mode, the robot vacuum cleaner cleans both dry and wet at the same time.
Viomi V2 Pro has a special 2-in-1 dust and water container. The waste container has a capacity of 300 ml and the water container has a capacity of 200 ml. Now you do not need to change the dust container to a water tank, and vice versa, depending on the cleaning mode. The robot vacuum cleaner collects the dry debris and washes the floors at the same time.
By the way, the dust container uses HEPA filter.
The large side wheels allow Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro to ride over obstacles up to 2 cm high. Thresholds, carpets or small hills are no obstacle for the robot vacuum cleaner.
The noise level is 68 dB. This is standard for a modern robot vacuum cleaner. The noise level may vary depending on the cleaning mode selected.
Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro lasts for 60 to 130 minutes on a single charge. The cleaning time depends on the cleaning mode and contamination of the room.
Like most other robot vacuum cleaners, Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro automatically returns to the charging station when the battery level is low. After recharging, the vacuum cleaner returns to the place where it was interrupted.
It takes 180-240 minutes to fully charge the battery.
Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro: Functions
While cleaning, Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro simulates a person’s movements, moving back and forth.
We have already written about that Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro is equipped with LDS sensor. This sensor is designed to scan a room and create a map of it. Thanks to this map, cleaning of the apartment is much faster and more efficient, because the robot vacuum cleaner plans its route.
Viomi V2 Pro is controlled both by a physical button on the top panel and by an app on the smartphone. You can control the cleaning process from your couch.
You can also install Mi Home app on your smartphone and control the robot vacuum cleaner from anywhere in the world at any time. For example, when you’re in the office, you can change the cleaning mode or see which room Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro has already cleaned.
Before you start cleaning, you are offered to install a virtual wall or select a certain part of the room to clean directly in the app on your smartphone. If you used to buy a special device to create a virtual wall, today you can do it in the app.
Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro vs Viomi V2: Comparison
After a detailed review of the new Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro, we found out that the only significant difference compared to the previous version of Viomi V2 is 2-in-1 container for dust and water, as well as the new mixed cleaning mode.
The previous robot vacuum cleaner Xiaomi Viomi V2 had a separate water tank and dust container. To collect the dry debris and clean the floors, you had to change the containers. With the new Viomi V2 Pro, you don’t have to change the containers.
What’s more, Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro is equipped with a mixed cleaning function, during which the robot vacuum cleaner cleans and washes the floor at the same time. This makes cleaning much faster.
