Redmi Band is officially introduced! This is the first fitness bracelet under Redmi brand. As you understand, the manufacturer is Xiaomi.

Yes, the Chinese company Xiaomi has a series of fitness bracelets Mi Band, but the new fitness tracker Redmi Band will be sold without mentioning Xiaomi. On all official posters and online shops, the new bracelet is called Redmi Band.

Redmi Band FIRST REVIEW: Is the new fitness tracker better than Mi Band 4?

In this article we will try to find out how the new fitness bracelet from Redmi differs from the latest Xiaomi Mi Band 4, except for the name itself.

Built-in USB connector

Redmi Band FIRST REVIEW: Is the new fitness tracker better than Mi Band 4?

First, the new fitness bracelet Redmi Band differs from the series of fitness trackers Xiaomi Mi Band by its design. The first fitness bracelet by Redmi has a rectangular display, and most importantly – built-in full-size USB A connector.

Now you do not need a charging cable and charging base to charge the fitness tracker. Simply remove one of the straps on the Band from Redmi, and insert the bracelet into the USB connector of a laptop, computer or power bank.

Rectangular Display

But let’s get back to the display. It has a diagonal of 1.08-inches. It looks like the screen isn’t touch, because there’s a button at the bottom. However, it is colored, unlike the first Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelets.

By the way, new Redmi fitness band has 72 preset watch faces, but we’ll talk about the functions a bit later.

As you can see from the images, the new fitness tracker is available in red, brown, black and blue.

Redmi Band copied the design?

Actually, the design of Redmi Band is similar to Realme Band or Fitbit Charge 3. They have the same rectangular display and built-in USB connector. Chinese companies like to copy from each other, so I am not surprised by the similarity between new Redmi tracker and other fitness bracelets.

Main Functions

As for the main functions, Redmi Band has five sports modes, heart rate monitor, counting of steps, calories, distance, as well as sleep quality monitor. In principle, it is a standard functions set for a budget fitness tracker.

Unlike the latest Mi Band 4, Redmi Band has no NFC. However, the new bracelet Redmi costs half as cheap as the fitness tracker Mi Band 4.

Battery life

I think you want to know about Redmi Band’s battery life. The new fitness tracker offers 14 days of battery life on a single charge with active use.

Price and buy Redmi Band

Finally, let’s talk about price. If Redmi Band wasn’t so cheap – only $14 – I wouldn’t even have noticed this fitness bracelet. It has a standard functions set for the fitness tracker 2020.

The only interesting feature is the built-in USB connector, but it’s not even a novelty. As I said before, Realme Band, Fitbit Charge 3 and many other fitness bracelets have built-in USB connector.

I hope that new fitness tracker Xiaomi Mi Band 5 will get more updates and new features than Redmi Band. Rumors say that Mi Band 5 will be introduced soon. We are waiting!
